I am concerned about my brother's bearded dragon. she used to be with my dragon before i moved her to her own terriam because the one they were in was way to big. since then everytime i see my brother's beardie basking her skin turns really dark. not underneath but the skin on her head back etc.. but when we take her out she seems to come back to normal colors. the temp is fine for her basking and cool end. i believe its a 30 gallon he is using this lamp set http://www.amazon.com/Zoo-Med-Desert-Heat-Lighting/dp/B00CYDE9JY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406951218&sr=8-1&keywords=basking+uvb+combo+desert

and here is her basking she looks to dark imo and looks not normal. http://s140.photobucket.com/user/gundambp/media/20140801_2303421_zpscd9fb673.jpg.html?state=copy.

and here is how she looks when out of her tank and normal she is on the right looking at the photo http://s140.photobucket.com/user/gundambp/media/63d4951c-3877-42fb-b680-b9536878ead0_zpsa078f7e4.jpg.html?state=copy.

mine never looks dark when she is basking so im kinda worried about his. and as far as I am aware she is eating just fine.

I don't think you need to worry - mine does the same! Here's some pics from about a month ago. I've read that they turn dark when basking to absorb more heat.

Here's what mine looks like when he basks:

And not:

How are the temperatures? Darkening can be to improve heat absorption - though some dragons just tend to wear dark colors more often than others. If the temperatures are ok, then could just be a personality thing :)

My dragon is the same way - dark in his cage and bright when he is out or getting fed.

Honesty I am not sure what his temps are. I know my dragons get dark in the morning when they first get under the light but they Go back to thier normal bright colors when they have warmed up. To where his is dark all the time while basking.

Might be worth checking the temps with a digital or IR thermometer.

Yes, so long as it is 100% silicone with no other ingredients or antifungals/antimicrobials in it it should be safe. Keep in mind, you need to let it cure for 24-48 hours or more until the smell is completely gone.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
