Broken rib

Hello everyone
Please could you tell me how long will it take for a rib to heal on a baby bearded dragon?
I feel really bad for what happened this morning, I can't believe I allowed for this to happen but my old bearded dragon bit my 3 months old baby. My baby bearded dragon walks jumps and poops but she didn't eat anything after the incident. I think she was stressed out. And I think she may have a broken rib

The bite wasn't too strong because I was there and took her out of the older beardy mouth straight away.
I can see the teeth in few places so I bathed the little one in antiseptic.
If she doesn't eat tomorrow I will take her to a vet.
But if she eats and behaves as herself I will wait for the rib to heal ( if it is actually broken).

I am so sorry for what happened to your baby.

At this time, I would be more concerned with other internal injuries (organ damage) than with broken ribs, especially since puncture marks are visible. Without an x-ray, there's no way to tell if the ribs are broken, unless they're poking through the scales.

To be on the safe side, even if she seems to be acting normal, she should be checked out by an experienced herp vet.

Hi again, thank you for your responses.
I have posted 3 pictures. Her rib is not sticking out but I think her right hand side is slightly different to to left side.
I woke up early this morning and she is not eating. Not yet anyway.
She sits on her rock to get warm, but when I took her out she was walking. I must admit she used to walk much faster before the accident.


Ok so lets assume she has an internal damage – will the vet able to do something about it?
If she has a broken rib- will it heal itself?

I don't see any marks on her, so the bite couldn't have been very bad at all, and I really don't see swelling in the foot. A vet couldn't do anything except prescribe anti inflammatory and pain meds if he thought necessary.

The dragon is quite thin though, what and how often do you feed it and how long have you had it ? Looks dehydrated as well...offer water on her snout with a eyedropper or spray bottle or give a warm 10 minute bath [ if she's used to them and not stressed by it ] and drip water on her snout. You might also get some chicken + squash baby food for her to get some nutrition.

Thanks you for your advice. I went with her to a VET today and she is doing fine according to him. The bites were not dip enough plus he checked her internal parts, there is no problem with any of them. He never gives 100% guarantee but she looks fine.

She is very white, I think she will shed. I thought... This may influence her behaviour and appetite.

I agree, she looks dehydrated, I took her for two baths, each 10 minutes. I have 3 beaded dragons and non of them likes baths! She did eat today but very little, maybe 4 crickets and 1 locust.

That's good...she didn't have any real damage other than a huge scare. I agree that shedding could stifle her appetite but it's nice to hear that she's eating some. Glad to hear that she's O.K.

A good idea is to separate them because beardies are not social animals and can be very hostile towards one another. If an adult sees a hatchling, it will probably just eat it.

The baby looks extremely thin. Would she not eat before the incident? You might want to supplement syringe feeding with baby food as well. If she's with other beardies or can see them it could be stressing her out.

Hi There, Maja is fine no-it all took place few months ago now. She recovered and is doing fine. she was skinny on the picture because the picture was taken 2-3 days after the accident. She didn't eat for few days after the incident.

My babies live together and the 2 year old female lives on her own. One of the babies is a female the other one a male.
