Boodah,Crush,Gizmo,Princess n Mika! Updated 4/23 :)

Even though we are still mourning our little Spike, he led us to our new luvbug, Boodah! I don't know if I am supposed to say, but we visited with Tom of TND Dragons today. He was wonderful and has the most beautiful dragons who are very well loved and cared for. Tom and his wife are so friendly and welcoming.

Here are the first pics of Boodah who is still settling in having just arrived home this afternoon. He weighed in at 14g today! More than double Spike! Boodah is wicked FAST and luvs jumping around his viv. He is extremely inquisitive and we can't wait until he's completely settled in and his full personality comes thru. Boodah is already very feisty and we are hopelessly head over heels in luv!

The kindness and generosity of everyone on this forum astounds me. It really is like a family here and I am so grateful for all of you. It's amazing how many wonderful friends I've made already. Thank you for your never-ending support during our trying times with Spike and for helping us welcome Boodah into our family.

Jane--Crush is adorable as is BOODAH. Hopefully Boodah doesnt get jealous of all the attention that is being given to Crush. (How old is crush anyway?)/ As for your dh building an enclosure--definitely have to come see you first and see size/take measurements as it looks big and I am not sure my daughter's room has room for it.

CONGRATULATIONS, Jane et al & welcome Crush. He is a beauty. He's already 6 mo old, almost 7. He sure is growing. It's nice to have a juvie, especially from Barbara, as they're already used to being handles & have great appetites. Glad to see Crush with you guys. You're going to have to beardie proof a room to give him room to roam. It's fun to watch them, you'll find two males give you lots of laughs, they get in such strange positions. Glad to hear the poop count, yep, juvie poops are big, adult poops are even bigger!

Give Boodah a big hug from us, Crush, too. You probably are going to see alot of arm waving from Boodah if he sees Crush, maybe you'll see Crush black beard, he's at the age to start. Rubio discovered black bearding when he was 5 mo old. He enjoyed himself so much, he turns his beard black just because he can. He's a funny one, too.

I'll be checking up on you guys, you'll have to introduce Crush on the blog, seems he already has a girl interested in him!

Thanks so much everyone! Crush really is a sweetheart. He's adjusting beautifully except he won't eat any crickets! All he wants to eat r worms! Any suggestions on how I can get him to eat them? Yesterday I figured I wouldn't give him any worms n that if he got hungry enough, he'd eat the crickets. So Boodah ate tons of crickets for breakfast n lunch so I decided to give him some worms as a treat. Crush couldn't see Boodah in the feeding tank but he could see me w/the worm tub. When I turned to see Crush, he had his beard all puffed out-the biggest I've seen so far! He didn't black beard but it was huge! I broke down n gave him some worms but he still hasn't eaten any crickets today so far.

Crush is making progress w/his shed. His head is almost finished but yesterday he looked like George Wahington! Poor thing looked like he was wearing a bad hair piece (pic below)! LOL. He LOVES to splash around in his bath. I'm soaking him once a day now to help him w/his shed.

Deb, ur rite about beardie proofing a room for him. Since he's so much bigger than Boodah, he explores the play yard n then gets bored after an hour. I have been putting new things in for him to check out to keep him interested but he needs lots more room to explore.

He really is a swwetie n he's been snuggling lots. He goes rite to sleep when the lites shut off n then I cover him up w/his blankie. He doesn't get up rite away in the morning. The lites come on at 730 n I uncover him around 9 n then he gets up. Is there a way I can merge Crush's thread w/Boodah's? One thread would make updating alot easier.

I'm still confused about the superworms. Is it ok if they r micros or no? I can't find anything definitive. Boodah is growing in leaps n bounds! He's starting to look so big! As of last nite, he weighs 30g! He eats really good n is so easy going. He still doesn't seem to care much that Crush is here. He blows up his beard a little when he sees him but that's it so far. Boodah really luvs his baths w/more water. I put a rock in for him to rest on. I put him on the rock to start n then he dives rite in! He swims around n then comes back to the rock. He does this the entire 20 minutes. He looks like he's about to start shedding his tail. I m going to measure him tonite. He is growing beautifully!

cute pics! that is almost how Hermes is right now--he is under his BIG rock but his arms are sideways,etc.
hopefuly no loose superworms. hermes loves them but I was told not to feed them until he was 16-17" long--dont know about micros--as long as they are micro supers and not mealies then I think you would be fine

Hey Julianne! I don't feed Boodah or Crush in their enclosures so there r no loose worms to worry about.

Hi Jane!

He is a cutie that is for sure....so active and curious.
Some beardies get tried of crickets after awhile especially if they know they may get something else they like better. Next time your gonna try to go a day without giving worms in hopes that he will eat crickets...move your worm container the night before so he can't see when you get into it to give Boodah some.

Hi Jane, wow 30g :shock: he sure is growing. He's how old now? He's a beautiful dragon, glad he's not spazzing about Crush being there, too. I don't know anything about microsupers, I know a few people feed them to their beardies. I'll ask Christine for you, she has two juvies & she was thinking of getting the microsupers, too. Our babies ate crickets until they were long enough to handle supers and have been eating them ever since. It's strange to have adults now, as Rubio and Issy were babies not so long ago. They're 18 mo now! Boy time goes fast. So give your babies a big hug for us, I'm so glad they so happy & healthy!

Hi Jane,
Crush is gorgeous, he looks so funny with the "cap" on his head, you're right, it looks like a bad hair piece. I'll have to show Roger when he gets back from the library. He's going to be a big boy and so is Boodah. You're going to have your hands full! But such fun. So for running around for Crush, just beardie proof one room and that's his playground. We have Lonzo in the computer room, he has lots of things to walk over, run around & has fun. We've figured out a way to block off the dining room, so Rubio has space to run around. Leo & the girls have to share the living room. The only rooms we don't allow the beardies to run around in, is our bedroom and the bathroom and the kitchen. Otherwise they own the rest of our house!
