Just goes to show that just because someone has nice animals and has been breeding a long time doesn't mean they are good people or overly caring for their breeders. Emperor scorpions have a very hard exoskeleton, I hope the dragon that ate it will be ok.

I cannot go back and watch it, but it seems to me I turned it off at the point the scorpion had one of the beardie's snouts in its claw. Did I imagine that?

I saw the video when they sent me an email to become their friend on facebook. The sad part is, there are tons of people who think its totally "cool", and will now think such behavior is acceptable. I think it is irresponsible and immature for someone of their status a to publish and distribute such unethical practices. At least use a disclaimer saying that these things were done only for the purpose of the video and are not a daily occurance, maybe even put a warning in the beginning. If I were to make a video, I would show off how much I baby my animals, not how crappy I treat them. I'm just glad I don't have to wear a gas mask in my house and I don't toss eggs around like a handful of jelly beans. Unfortunately, they are probably the only dragon breeder I have no respect for. (oops, there is a warning at the beginning)

That was just disturbing...I liked bloodbanks dragons but I'm glad I didnt buy from them. I was looking into them at the same time as Tom (TND Dragons). I don't have any other lizards in the house, but the crickets, worms, roaches we feed don't really see it coming and die instantly. That was just gruesome. Will never buy from BBD now

I have to disagree with all the negative about Bloodbank. I have 3 beardies from them they have been nothing but helpful in fact overly helpful. I had an issue with one of my beardies not doing well and they were with me every step of the way, called me several times a day giving advice and pointers. I didn't like the feeding portion of the video, it's nothing I would ever feed my beardies but Bearded Dragons in the wild probably eat things we would find awful and harmful. I have had a fair bit of dealing with Barry & Kisa and I honestly like them and would happily do business again and I refer other people to them.....

My husband and I sat down to watch this video after Cheryl at Rio Reptiles informed me of it and we were both sick to our stomach. He couldn't watch it, and I forced myself to finish it. The lack of respect of all animals involved, even down to the eggs, is just disturbing and even more so if this was just done for the shock factor. The hubby and I joked that we should post a video of our facility showing the dragons "attacking" their salads and ripping pieces of collards apart, snuggling in their fleece blankets, and us loving on them each one of them, babies to adults without gas masks.

This kind of thing should not happen at any reputable breeder, and definately not posted on the internet for "shock value", I am not for the big time breeders anyways due to the puppy mill resemblence and this only solidifies it.

I think the point has clearly been made about how terrible this video is, but I still wanted to chime in with my thoughts. I do agree that this is unacceptible, especially from a breeder that until now I thought was reputable. Granted I realize that this type of thing could happen in the wild, I still don't see why a breeder (who again many think is reputable) would promote such a thing. As someone else has said now many others will think it's cool and will want to try it out with their beardies. It's dead wrong and very disrespectful not just to the beardies, but to the animals (because I'm sure some won't stop at scorpions or anoles) that are subjected to becoming prey. It's just sickening really.

I'm the owner of a very sweet and gentle Bloodback baby and while I love my Dewey to death and would not trade him for the world, had I seen this video before I bought him I definitely would not have gotten him. I used to recommend Bloodbank to people who were looking, but I won't be anymore.

I saw it at college, I check my emails alot and my friends eneded up watching, and we were all in horror!
I agree its allready been stated but i also lost alot of respect.
If your a lizard owner its cruel to feed them over the lizards, I dont keep anoles but i do keep Geckos and as we were saying in another thread but someone feeding it one.
I think its completely wrong. Its cruel.

Saw this just now and had to come here to see if it was being talked about.

I am SO glad my kids weren't with me when I watched. I am very disturbed by it, and especially that there will be people who think it's cool and hey, let's try that!

Yeah, I'm not saying that Bloodbanks doesn't produce beautiful and healthy babies- Because they do- but I don't at all agree with the treatment of them now. Definately won't be recommending them any more, and I used to recommend them all the time. Until I saw that, I thought that Bloodbank was a smaller operation too, but that video made them look more like a mill that mass produces them. :|

And now I bet lots of stupid people are going to rush to Petco to buy scorpions, smaller lizards, mice, and maybe even tarantulas, milipedes, and other large bugs to feed their beardies.

If I was going to make a promotion video, I would show Dudley swimming in his much-loved bath, violently mauling some raspberries, blueberries and mango, and stalking some superworms, and snuggling in his fishy-print blankie... Not eating other animals. :( It kinda shows a side of them that I would rather not see.

meby this would be a good place for other breeders to show off their reptile rooms lets show people how professionals really do it

I'm glad others were sickened by this video. I started to watch it after it was sent to me in one of their e-mails. I thought it was simply going to be a tour of their breeding facility. I had no preparation whatsoever for the feeding of the poor anole to the dragon. I immediately stopped the video and refused to watch it further. It was absolutely shocking to me and I felt sick for hours afterwards. Thankfully, I did not see the scorpion eaten by the dragons. I am disgusted that a breeder would do this. I was quite an admirer of bloodbanks' unique dragons, but I would never buy one from them or recommend them now. That was simply animal torture for no purpose whatsoever.

That's absolutely revolting! I won't be buying a bloodbank dragon ever now. Also i believe there is one point where the scorpion is actually stinging the beardie in the face? This is a messed up video!

We saw the video the other night and it made us sick. This is why we do not like these so called "Big Breeders" to me they are in it purely for money and not the love of dragons. First off we think people should forward the Video to the Oregon SPCA that is Animal Endangerment in our opinion and totally immoral! We have looked into buying dragons from Blood Bank, forget it now we will not associate ourself with people like that.

Did anyone look at the tanks? We see floro tubes but no heat bulbs. They claim they keep the room warm with heaters but what about the basking spot? They don't get it and that can lead to sick dragons. The tanks are screen on top of it with news paper nothing else, no platforms nothing. :angry5:

I bet they having the breathing masks on because of how many dragons they have, there where 6 or more to a cage! :banghead: Can you imagine the filth and smell from so much fecal matter? I truly feel sorry for the dragons in blood banks hands they are nothing more than breeders to them. :puke: In our opinion Blood bank dragons is no better than a puppy mill except instead of dogs its Bearded Dragons. All they see are the dollar bills and publicity. :banghead:

:angry5: Sorry this may have been harsh but this makes us SICK! :angry5:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
