Blondie's Pringles ~ Coco, Lexi, Crash & Psycho

So the decision was completely up to Carl, because Xena was his babygirl, and I know no-one else in the world can ever replace her... but he has always wanted to raise a baby dragon, seeing as how 3 of our 4 are rescues, and adults when we took them in...

So darn if they aren't totally like, well as fresnowitte says, P-R-I-N-G-L-E-S-!

So Carl picked out his baby... it'll take a little while to name her, we have to see her personality. Welcome into our hearts, little one... almost 14 inches / 166 grams / crazy hyper personality so far ...
111210-bg01.jpg

As soon as we got her out of the packaging, she made a bee-line for my son's leg & pancaked out, so CJ got the first real snuggles, he's my little seatwarmer:
111210-bg02.jpg

Look at that sweet face:
111210-bg04.jpg

111210-bg05.jpg

Ooh, soft, what's this?
111210-bg06.jpg

Yum, salad... nom nom nom...
111210-bg07.jpg

Hey, lady, I cleaned my plate, can I have more?...
111210-bg08.jpg

Oh, wait, ...
um, what else was I gonna say? ...
Oh, yeah,

There's MORE!

I had to crop that first picture, look really closely...
111210-1-unwrapping.jpg

did you look really really close?
???
Really?

111210-lg01.jpg

111210-lg02.jpg

Barbara was worrying about finding this little guy a special home, and Carl fell in love with him/her too... so he's our "little guy/gal"... Quasi now looks huge, and Crash looks like Godzilla compared to these two!

So meet little guy / 60 grams / 11 inches ... so laid back, just watches everything going on, and eats and eats and eats (hand-fed salad today  )
111210-lg03.jpg

111210-lg04.jpg

Just a little stress going from Cali to Ohio...
111210-lg07.jpg

Bath time! This little one loves to swim already!
111210-lg08.jpg

111210-lg09.jpg

Ooh, what's this?
111210-lg10.jpg

111210-lg11.jpg

Ooh, what's up here -- slowly progressed up the branches, then just watched us and all the activity in the room for about an hour...

ugh. vultures. this is ridiculous. Greed may make us sever a LOT of ties with family because we do not like this type of behaviour... its such a shame, too, its NOT one of the children doing this. It is a family member who is not normally entitled to inherit, but we were going to share anyway.

I ordered Carl to lay down and get some rest. It was hard, because just as he was laying down, of course totally exhausted, he got a text from (that person) saying "we're at the house, come now and help get stuff" OMG, people, he's not even at the funeral home yet, let alone at the crematorium, he just passed a couple hours ago  I am so appalled by this behaviour, it turns my stomach.

Hubby's goal in all this is that his little sister gets the items that she desires. If they are not at the house when we arrive to help pack, then we are going to find out where those items are, and do everything possible to get those items for her. I already told Carl it may have to go to court for him and his sis to get this person removed. Such a shame.

On top of that, this person already talked Carl's dad into signing over his car... um, a fairly new Cadillac, totally paid off already... so, that person has the most valuable thing already, and wants more more more? OMG this is just wrong.

I WANT TO BUILD MY LOG CABIN AND BE A HERMIT IN THE WOODS, LIVING OFF THE LAND, HAVING A SIMPLE LIFE!!!

Unfortunately, greed surfaces itself during times like this. These people feel entitled to anything and everything just because s/he's related. It truly is a shame, especially since your f-i-l had only passed away a few hours ago.
Christ, at least let the body cool down first :angry5: (sorry, that was wrong, but that's how I feel)

I hope both Carl and his sister would be able to get the items that they want, without having to go to court.

Gina, I feel the same way -- Carl's comment was "jeez, he's not even at the funeral home yet"...

Carl is willing to defer all his "pickings" (chances to pick 1 item or whatever) to her, so she can get the items she desires. We would like some photographs, and since it will be a military funeral, does the flag go to Carl? he's the oldest child... no wife. Mary? do you know? No one in the family seems to want the 40+ gallon fish tank, Cj loves fish, so we ran the idea past him for a large tank... he's game.

I REALLY don't think a tank of regular old fish and some pictures is out of line for a son to ask for  He has three 22's, would love to have one because it was dad's... but I have a feeling those will be "missing" if you know what I mean.

If we get the burial flag, I would like to frame it and add his photo for my special gallery wall.

Any chance of locking up the house until everyone could be there at the same time? Also, did your f-i-l have a will? If so, anything 'missing' that should be going towards the appointed recipient would be considered theft.

I believe the flag would be delivered to the eldest child, which in this case should be Carl.

not an official will, just his wishes written down on regular paper and notarized. That complicates the issue.

(That person) is who holds the key at the moment. No one else has a copy, that person gained possession of the keys at the hospital.

If it was notarized, it's just as good as an official will drawn up at a lawyer's office.
How in the h-e-double-hockey-sticks did this person get the only copy of the house keys?? And who in the world is this person anyway? Good grief! Talk about a back-stabbing, money-hungry SOB

I am trying to leave it anonymous... that person isn't super computer saavy, but just incase these links were run across, ya know?

(that person) got the house keys when Carl's dad was hospitalized (I think that was about 3+ weeks ago, not sure of date he went in, it was before June 8th)... anyway, (that person) considered the car "not safe" at dad's house now, and went and got it today... as well as one of the 22s (I am sure to pawn for cash) -- unfortunately (that person) is hard-up for money right now, and all they see is dollar signs and "what can I pawn for cash". Pity. Champagne taste on a generic beer budget.

Carl sent a text to the family who should be involved, and put (this person) included... said "we need to all meet at dad's together, and I hope the house is undisturbed still, so we can all have a pow-wow and remember him like before he was hospitalized..."... I hope this person realizes that accountability is going to happen, like it or not.

This person is just trying to control and micromanage everything, we would not put it past them to even hide whole bank accounts... unfortunately they were throwing out "big words" like "money needs to go into escrow" etc... um, escrow is for when you buy a house, duh. Pop didn't own, he was renting. So this person is hoping to hold on to a bunch of things and money, in hopes we are too stupid to know better. We already have a few plans to call (this person) on the carpet as diplomatically as can be done, but depending on how far they push this bullpuckey, it could get nasty. Carl is willing to push it as far as needed, and sign every last thing over to his sister to prove we're not in this for "stuff" or monetary gain, its about what's right.

The issue is further complicated by the fact that his parents never married, and I don't think his dad is legally listed on his birth certificate. Hence the idea to fight for his sis's rights, and give it all to her if necessary.

I hear you there! Sounds like the perfect life to me. :)

Me and my boys(remember I have lots of them) could come take care of that person for you....
I hate how greed sets in so quickly....my mom wasn't even cold yet before the vultures attacked. It's a shame that people are like that. :(

Hugs and tell Carl I have hugs for him too....now don't get jealous Dawn....I'm older than you.
I already have a younger man.

Love you guys and always thinking of you!

I just had a chance to catch up with all this. I'm soo sorry all this is happening. You have my sympathies. I send hugs, hoping it will help somehow. I am praying for you all and this situation. I realize a lot of people in this world only care for the almighty dollar. That is just soo frustrating.

well, after a long talk with my B-I-L (hubby's sister's husband), we are all 4 on board and on the same page to try and make all this happen as amicably as possible. We are the only 4 that are thinking of OTHERS, not ourselves... so it feels good that the 2 most important people in this (the two kids) and their spouses all want the same outcome. Funeral plans being made today, then off to the crematorium for Carl to do the last ID before cremation.

I have decided (after talking to b-i-l) that we are going to quietly get dad's clothing (under the guise of donating if needed)... and I am going to make a special quilt for Carl's sis for Xmas -- her hubby said she would cherish it forever, so done. :) Even if everything else head toward ruckus, I can at least give her something very special to remember her dad. But its a secret, so shhhhhhh don't tell :D

The quilt will be a great lasting memory of your f-i-l for your s-i-l. I'm sure she'd be tickled pink and would treasure it forever.
Good luck with the funeral arrangements and getting his clothing "for donation".

Dawn- My heart and prayers go out to you and Carl. I hate that you are going through this. :angry5: Get a court order QUICKLY and have the house sealed. Then get a lawyer. This Person should be stopped. (We had to deal with this when Mom's hubby passed)

As for the flag, Yes, it goes to Carl, no question. Proper order- Spouse, eldest child or parent if none of these, then oldest sibling. Since Carl is eldest child, it goes to him. :) TP should not want the flag anyway- no cash value.

I do hope this ends soon so his family can grieve in peace. May His Peace be with you all through this dark time.

His sis is on his FB list, and since we're attached, I will have to post the quilt progress pics here... not that you guys will mind LOL.

Boy, Psycho is being a pooter this morning, we give Crash and Psycho "peek-a-boo time" in the mornings, and he already devoured all his "pretty" from his salad... Psycho is sitting there at her dish like "na na boo boo" to poor Crashie, because she didn't eat all her Rose of Sharon yet. What a stinker! And she's sitting there all big-eyed, beautifully innocent. They are such a trip.

Of course Coco wanted all hers to be hand-fed, and Lexi attacked her dish... yes, attacked... tongue flicking out as she was in motion to get all the pretty purple. I'm glad those bush blooms for well over a month LOL

I think your idea of a quilt made from Carl and his sister's dad's clothes is a very heart filled gift idea an I can not wait to see what you come up with. Mums the word!

Gotta love you... :love5:
I am always reassured in mankind with the things you do for people. I love the fact that life will never harden your heart. :love5:

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
