Blondie's Pringles ~ Coco, Lexi, Crash & Psycho

So the decision was completely up to Carl, because Xena was his babygirl, and I know no-one else in the world can ever replace her... but he has always wanted to raise a baby dragon, seeing as how 3 of our 4 are rescues, and adults when we took them in...

So darn if they aren't totally like, well as fresnowitte says, P-R-I-N-G-L-E-S-!

So Carl picked out his baby... it'll take a little while to name her, we have to see her personality. Welcome into our hearts, little one... almost 14 inches / 166 grams / crazy hyper personality so far ...

As soon as we got her out of the packaging, she made a bee-line for my son's leg & pancaked out, so CJ got the first real snuggles, he's my little seatwarmer:
111210-bg02.jpg

Look at that sweet face:
111210-bg04.jpg

111210-bg05.jpg

Ooh, soft, what's this?
111210-bg06.jpg

Yum, salad... nom nom nom...
111210-bg07.jpg

Hey, lady, I cleaned my plate, can I have more?...
111210-bg08.jpg

Oh, wait, ...
um, what else was I gonna say? ...
Oh, yeah,

There's MORE!

I had to crop that first picture, look really closely...
111210-1-unwrapping.jpg

did you look really really close?
???
Really?

111210-lg02.jpg

Barbara was worrying about finding this little guy a special home, and Carl fell in love with him/her too... so he's our "little guy/gal"... Quasi now looks huge, and Crash looks like Godzilla compared to these two!

So meet little guy / 60 grams / 11 inches ... so laid back, just watches everything going on, and eats and eats and eats (hand-fed salad today  )
111210-lg03.jpg

111210-lg04.jpg

Just a little stress going from Cali to Ohio...
111210-lg07.jpg

Bath time! This little one loves to swim already!
111210-lg08.jpg

111210-lg09.jpg

Ooh, what's this?
111210-lg10.jpg

111210-lg11.jpg

Ooh, what's up here -- slowly progressed up the branches, then just watched us and all the activity in the room for about an hour...

Dawn, thanks for that story. It was sooo funny I couldn't finish reading it to my husband, thankfully he was sitting behind me and was able to finish reading it. I started laughing at an earlier post and he came running in to see what's soo funny, whenever I laugh at something, he must know what it's about. One of these days, after we get resettled back into our house, probably after the 4th as we have many plans for that weekend, he has stories he's written about beardies and people who aren't really into beardies.

Check out our thread in a week or two.

oh, I forgot to tell you that Carl had to stand by Lexi's tank as we were leaving to head to Indy ~ I soooo wanted to take her as a brooch for my wedding outfit :) My dad would have had a coronary. Brother would have thought I was nuts. Ex SIL would have crapped herself. Oh c'mon, let me have some fun!!! I'm getting older by the day (aka my bday is tomorrow) ~ I need to entertain myself to keep my mind active ROFLMBO

Dawn, Bill soo understands that desire! Take our girls where ever we can, especially when you can freak someone out by making them think that beardies are much larger than they really are.

Hi Dawn

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, hope your day was happy. Thanks for all the pics, can't believe you got your 2 teenagers to behave (at least be quiet during the ceremony). Beautiful bride & handsome groom, glad everything went well. I can't get over that beautiful quilt, you'll post a pic when you're done, right? I can't get over the work involved & those butterflies are awesome.

Remember, you're only getting younger now, not older!

yeah, Carl gets me up yesterday saying "happy 49th birthday dear" ~ (do you want to get hurt?) ~ then CJ asks a confirmation of how old I am, and Carl says "29 with 16 years experience" ~ took a few minutes for the kids to "get it"... LOL

Now I'm finishing up the last stitching so I can mail this off to the groom's mom :) so its back in their possession before the bride & groom get home from Jamaica :)

Poor li'l Lexi looks like a little old lady ~ her whole head and back are going into heavy shed AGAIN. Poor thing, she's always got something shedding. Coco just finished a difficult shed, her whole tail looked like a possum tail for about a week. Something about dragons with reds in them, they are soooo sensitive when they are shedding :)

Got a cutie pic of Crash, who says guys don't like pink... this is actually one of his favorite blankies :)

Hey, I like that  , 29 with 16 years experience. :laughing6:

That's a cute pic of Crash on his favorite pink blankie. :love5:

Lola is getting prepared for another shed now too. Seems like she's also constantly shedding something. It's a rarity that she's her normal colors.
An yes colorful beardies seem to be more sensitive that's for sure. My more normal colored beardies are nowhere near as sensitive or grumpy when they shed. Though that silly bright colored Gus (leatherback) shedding doesn't seem to bother him at all. He sheds much differently than the normal skinned beardies. It's more like when we have dry skin...it just kind of flakes off in small thin pieces.

Hey Dawn I was gonna get a new weight and measurement on Lola, hopefully today...when you get the quilt finished and mailed maybe you could update Lexi's so we could compare the little boogers. :)

hehe she's grumpy today! a square on her tail, her whole back, a heavy skullcap... poor baby, and Coco just got hers off, so she's in a better mood, but now Lexi is the grump. Of course Crash is eyebulging, and so is Psycho ~ freaky when Psycho does it. Her eyes look like they're gonna just pop!

Ok, before everyone chases me down... the quilt has been SHIPPED! Yay! Here are final pics...

This was on the bed at the hotel, needed to finish the stitching, but you can see what it'll look like on the bed...
quilt-athotel.jpg

and this was working late into the night ... warming neckwrap helps! filled with microwave-able flaxseed...

this is closeups of the crewel I did on a few of the butterflies (there are 12 total)

Here are closeups of the final quilting stitches (the true quilting that holds it all together)...

I even stitched my "love" right into the quilt LOL...
stitching07-062911.jpg

you can see how I had to work around all those antennae...

stitching16-062911.jpg

and here's the final quilt ~ right before packaging and shipping... my helpers wanted to hide today, Carlye and daddy are both behind there...

So then it was time to smell the flowers and enjoy my garden and stretch those muscles...

and this is a common sight here... the blimp hangar is just up the road from me... they were training novice pilots today, the blimps were doing nosedives as the houses and then pulling up fast... freaky if you're not used to it!

WOW! Dawn, the quilt came out so beautiful! The butterflies were incredible! I'm sure the kids will treasure it forever.

I love the pic of Crash with his pink blankie. He looked so happy and proud to love pink

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
