Blondie's Pringles ~ Coco, Lexi, Crash & Psycho

So the decision was completely up to Carl, because Xena was his babygirl, and I know no-one else in the world can ever replace her... but he has always wanted to raise a baby dragon, seeing as how 3 of our 4 are rescues, and adults when we took them in...

So darn if they aren't totally like, well as fresnowitte says, P-R-I-N-G-L-E-S-!

So Carl picked out his baby... it'll take a little while to name her, we have to see her personality. Welcome into our hearts, little one... almost 14 inches / 166 grams / crazy hyper personality so far ...

As soon as we got her out of the packaging, she made a bee-line for my son's leg & pancaked out, so CJ got the first real snuggles, he's my little seatwarmer:

Barbara was worrying about finding this little guy a special home, and Carl fell in love with him/her too... so he's our "little guy/gal"... Quasi now looks huge, and Crash looks like Godzilla compared to these two!

So meet little guy / 60 grams / 11 inches ... so laid back, just watches everything going on, and eats and eats and eats (hand-fed salad today :mrgreen: )

Just a little stress going from Cali to Ohio...

Bath time! This little one loves to swim already!

I know you're away Dawn, but just wanted to say caught up on your quilting forum & the quilt that you made is fantastic. I couldn't get over how beautiful the quilt is & it's so big. Wow, what a great imagination you have, the butterflies turned out beautiful. I'm so glad you got lots of pics, you deserve an award for that beautiful quilt & I'll bet your niece will never part with it. Have a great wedding weekend, hope the kids are good in the car. When you have a minute, let me know how your niece felt when she sees the quilt, I'll bet she jumps for joy!!!!

Got unsubscribed and missed the quilt pics! My mom in law is an avid quilter and she taught me. I have only made three though, and nothing as elaborate as yours! Gorgeous!
Love the girls and their splits and tummies! We just found out that our Clovis is a girl. She will continue to bear the name of a Frankish king though. She's just comfortable with her gender like that. :wink:

"mom, can you pull over at the next rest stop?"... ok, I oblige, thinking its a potty stop... NO! CJ gets out of the car and asks me to untie the bag so his fish can have more air... WTH? To backup a little, the centerpieces at the wedding were two little fantail goldfish, a "bride" and "groom"... needless to say, my brother was a little ... errr, pushy? ... to find homes for 54 of those little buggers! :shock: why did he have to say something within earshot of my kids?!? :twisted:

Needless to say, we had 9 little stow-aways for the trip home! Its a loooong drive with two teenagers, and 9 fish!

We did have fun, the wedding was beautiful, and here are pics. I think I'm going to go take a nap now zzzzzz... (by the way, my machine got possessed and freaked out and was stitching at hyperspeed... so I have a couple hours more of the pretty topstitching (that's the actual "quilting" BTW) to do while the happy couple is on their honeymoon... had to bring it back home!)

Kids are always so "good" and "excited" at wedding ceremonies... LOL...

This is how excited CJ was ROFLMBO...

this is the quilt laid on my hotel bed, looks pretty, I was tired from the drive and tempted to just crawl under it LOL ...

This is some of the actual "quilting"... I had to design the flower motif to fit in the space left over after quilting long runs of feather plumes along the long sides...

just a lazy swirl pattern on the interior of the quilt...

back fabric is a pale yellow with little white butterflies...

at brunch with family the next morning (my dad, SIL, brother, nephews, kids, stepmom) Carlye was hungry and ordered Belgian Waffles... OMG they were huge!

CJ ordered flapjacks, and they were bigger than his head!

always nice to be getting back home...

and I got to see a childhood friend on the trip home in Marion, Ohio ~ Mt. Gilead... we met the year my parents divorced, and have been friends since... my dad couldn't believe I still talked to her, she lived 2 doors down from his bachelor apt when I was 9... sorry, I look like crap, but I was tired after driving to Indy one day, then home the next, and remember, there are 9 little fishies in the stupid car!!!

Funny story, those who are not FB friends of mine... (I already posted this as my status LOL)... we stopped in Springfield, Ohio at a road-side rest stop... I had to go sooooo bad, I was practically kegeling it to make it to the building... the kids even teased me because I didn't exactly park straight. LOL

So, I get up the hill to the building, and kapow, there is a LINE of women waiting... well, the women's lav is being clean by two men. Not caring at this point, I am ready to go into the men's just to relieve myself. I whispered that to Carlye and the lady behind me overheard... started giggling. So I finally get into the "family" potty that everyone has been waiting in line for, and no sooner sit than I hear loud cheering outside the door. I almost lost it laughing, then realized the dude's next door just finished cleaning and let the rest of the line it!

So get the business done, wash up, and go out for a little walk to wake up (I'm still hours from home)... kids and I stroll around the area to reoxygenate the muscles (aka wake up the sleeping cheekbutts LOL) ... and I stopped at the vending machines for a cold bottle of Coke. Of course CJ has lots of pent-up energy, so he's been running laps around me and Carlye.

I'm $.25 short... have to walk back to the car and get some more money. No prob, extra wakeup time then we get back up to the Coke machine, I get my Coke, and the kids decide to race thru the grassy area, down a big hill to the car. Of course I'm old, so decide to mosey...

I open my Coke and take a wonderfully cold refreshing LARGE drink... take the Coke away from from lips and hear "T-H-U-D-!" ~ look down at the hill, and Carlye had tripped and done a hard face-plant onto the grass (and slid about 3 feet in the process, she had built up momentum!)... It was reflex, I swear! You know how sometimes something is just so funny and bad at the same time you laugh and just cannot help yourself? Remember what I had just gotten done doing?

OMG ~ Coke shot out my nose, I mean SPRAYED really FAR... Good lord, that BURNS!!! I managed to compose myself just enough to say "you ok?" and look at the dude standing to my left, he's about ready to wet himself with laughter. Carlye rolls over, looks at me, and is laughing her butt off at the absurdity of the whole situation. Then she got mad because she missed the Coke thru the nose! :shock: WTH?

My nose burned til I got to Mansfield, BTW, for those of you who know Ohio!!!

Sounds like you guys had quite the trip. The quilt really turned out spectacular, Dawn. Sorry to hear you have more work to do on it.
Loved the "have to pee" story. I could not tell you how many times I have used the boy's potty in my life. I can be rather impatient when it comes to holding "it".
Looking forward to seeing you in a week or so.

btw.... me don't want any goldfish, so don't even think about bringing any to FL with you. :lol:

LOL ~ SHE was miffed because she's 13 and thinks she knows it all, y'know? Seriously, she was having a bad pantyhose day... And HE was miffed because I made him wear a tie. actually, it was originally a clip-on tie... he had dismantled it thinking he wouldn't be able to wear it. Duh, I'm a mean mommy, I come packin' safety pins. You WILL wear a tie to Jess' wedding, dangit! I safety pinned it under his collar to fake the tie look.

Oh, and daddy wasn't there to complain to...
