can someone explain to me the reasons for blackbearding what does it mean.

It either means that the dragon is trying to absorb heat, is getting territorial, getting aggressive, or trying to attract a mate. Hope this helped!

A black beard for a short period tends to mean irritation about something. It can be hormonal or part of a defensive mechanism. It really depends. Think of it kind of like a mood ring. Try to take it in context with other behavior such as appetite, energy levels, and reaction to his environment. If the black beard is there for an extended period of time (and often with loss of color on other areas of the body) it can indicate sickness, especially when combined with lethargic behavior.
