I'm getting a beardie soon and was wondering what the best way is to store roaches. I don't want to raise my own colony. I plan on buying in bulk monthly. Would a cricket keeper work or would a plastic tub with a screen cutout on the lid or something else be better? Thank you!

Some people have issues with escapes from commercial cricket keepers. It's fairly rare but just to be safe I would use a plastic tub, I don't believe they can climb smooth walls like that (although all my info is from the internet as I don't personally keep dubia roaches.)

I buy my “buggies” about every 3 months, a hew hundred at a time. I have them in a plastic Cricket keeper, the largest one. I put the roach food in a lid and the water gel in another. I heard others put fruits and veggies in also. I don’t because I only feed and clean them twice a week. I have another container that I bought at the dollar store to put them in while I clean the poop out. It literally takes 5 minutes. I also put cardboard egg cartons in for them to climb on. They are more expensive than crickets but they are easier to take care of and to clean.

If you have an old 10-20g tank with a mesh top that would work. A big rubbermaid tote bin would work well too. Just cut a big hole in the top and cover it with mesh screen. I use cardboard tubes for housing because they come with paper towels and toilet paper so they are easily available. I feed them fresh veg scraps and occasional fruit. They really like squash, banana, bread slices, and orange slices but will eat up just about anything.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
