Well, I guess not all vets will do them then. I once had a dog/cat vet check a fecal for me, so that's why I mentioned it, guess I was just lucky.

Thanks I will call!!! Thanks @diamc. I talk to alot on here and you always so helpful. The closest is about 45 minutes away. Will my lil guy be ok if i cant get to one till later this week? Im gonna get the fecal check done tmrw by a local one but they do very simple reptile stuff.. Im such a worry. I know its sad but I havent eaten since lunch yesterday worring about him.. I remember now when i bought him the pet shop i got him from had him in sand and feeding big crickets to them. Ohh and iceberg lettuce. I went back there last week and he has 4 nice size beardies in a lil tank and it was full of waste. So they not in the healthiest place. But i think he may have always had them. I thought he ate good till i got the female. She is a monster when it comes to eating. This isnt something that could kill him overnight? I check on him every hour.. SO SO Worried!!!!!

We always try to help any way we can. A 45 min drive isn't too bad for you. But, you need to make sure that YOU eat because that isn't helping you or him either. Good that you can get a fecal check done tomorrow, that will at least give you an idea. Is he not active at all? Make sure to keep him well hydrated and try to get some more squash & chicken baby food into him. Try to keep him out of view of the female because stress can raise the parasite level too and you want to keep him as calm as possible.

That's awful about the diet he had before and the way those other beardies are at the pet store. Don't you wish you could rescue them all?

Whats the easiest way to give him the baby food? Hes seems pretty normal when i take him out. Turns bright and white. Runs up my arms. Plays and explores all around my bed. In his tank he just lays under the basking light. He cant see her where hes at now. Im trying to take care of myself. Just cant stop worring about him..

When you gave him the squash & chicken baby food before, did you put drops on his nose for him to lick off? If not, try that because usually when they get a taste of it, they really like it. What is his basking surface temp? Are his colors darker when he is in his tank?

I put it in a children's medicine seringue and he licked it off. I fed him shredded squash and a lil mango this morning. and some collard greens. I have to rub the side of his mouth and when he opens his mouth i put it at the tip and he eats it up. He had another bowel movement just now. Some soild and runny which is from all the squash i fed him.. I HOPE.. lol. My temps are perfect. Basking is 107. Hes not as dark today as he was yesterday. But i been feeding him lil by lil thourghout the day. He always darker in the tank. Loves being out.. back to me spoiling him..lol.. Ill try the nose trick.

Guys another quick question. Do i need to bring him in for the fecal test? If so you think it would be too stressful for me to bring him to work with me? THe vet that handles with minor reptile things is 20 minutes from my work but 40 minutes from my home. I have a basking light uvb tube bulb and tank i was planning on keeping him for the day..

You shouldn't need to take him unless they request an appt at the same time. Perhaps you can have it tested first and then take him if needed. So, if you can prevent having to take him out of his normal setup, that would be the best.

Good that you have a children's medicine syringe. I actually use a toddlers medicine dropper, works very well. Let us know how you make out feeding him again, great that you're doing it often.

Ok that sounds good. I'll leave him here. He fell asleep under my pillow. His fav spot. like every night. He looked so good. All color and white. If he was bigger I'd let him stay there all night. It worked pretty good. He ate a ill more shredded squash too. Thanks and il let y'all know when I find out.

Yes, please do. Good that he ate some squash. Try to get some chicken baby food into him as often as you can if he's not eating many feeders, that will help with his protein intake.

Ok no parasites but his fecal test but it had a bunch of parasite eggs. She gave him panacur suspension and 5 days of metronidazole. I have to bring him back in on the april 9th. He was so good. He enjoyed spending the afternoon at work. He was bright and white all day. I changed his carpet and scrubbed and cleaned all his trees and rocks with hot water and Jurassic clean. Poor gut only weights 33 grams.. Other then that strong and alert.

Oh, having a bunch of parasite eggs explains a lot. Did they say what type of parasites?

So, you ended up taking him in, great that he was so good. Hopefully once the eggs are gone, he will start eating a lot more. What was his coccidia count or didn't they tell you?

Make sure to put him on a probiotic right away and to continue it for about 3 wks after the medications are done to help restore his good gut flora so that he doesn't lose more of his appetite. Also, antibiotics are very drying so be sure to offer oral fluids and give daily baths.

Yes she asked me to bring him in too. She didnt say and i didnt ask. I wasnt sure what to ask. I was just glad we found the cause of his problem. He could live out his tank. He stays all bright and turns dark when i put him up.. lol. He played around more this afternoon. Running around my bed. Where do i get a probiotic and how much and how to use it?

A few of him playing around tonight..

He is just SO adorable. Just look at that face. :p

For the time being, you could pick up some SOY yogurt (non-dairy), it comes in fruit flavors in peach, blueberry, etc. You could just use that or could get some Benebac gel for birds/reptiles or powder Benebac which would make it easier to mix with water or baby food, Acidophilis, AviBios. You can read about those and order them from here if you want: http://bug-de-lite.com/Products%20Page.html This is actually Drache613's site (Tracie). She is very quick with shipping. Or you could find most of them at a pet store.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
