Beardie not eating!!

I have a beardie Dexter. He is about 5 months old. He hasnt been eating much. He has energy when i let him out. He jumps and crawls all over my bed. I tried crickets phonix worms. He been going thou a shed the last week. Dont know if thats the cause. He is dark brown when i get home and turns bright and white the minute i take him out the cage. When i put him back he turns dark again. Hes acting pretty normal except for the eating. And just laying under his basking lamp. I have female that is 3 months younger and she eats like horse and looks bigger then him. Just getting me worried. Like right now hes running around. but in the cage just lays around. I have the Arcaidain lights and my temps are perfect. This morning i hand fed him a few phoniex worms and crickets. I came home and found crickets in his tank. I dont know if he passed them or threw them up. Im so scared. There are no vets around me that deal with reptiles. compared to my female who is 3 months younger he is skinny!!! Any ideas what i can do..He sheded his legs and tail. Not his body yet. I took him this afternoon and hes playing and exploring in my bed.. Any help or info !!!

Can you post a picture of the enclosure please? Also how old is the UV source?

my beardie doesnt like to eat much while hes shedding. they get into those moods sometimes. is he pooping? he may be impacted. are you offering veggies as well? what are his temps ? how long ago did you replaced the uvb?

This is his set up. Its been like this since i got him back in dec. The bulb was purchased in feb. He just started this about a week ago. hes in my bed right now running all over bright and white.. not too bad for not eating.

if your temps are correct i do not know. ive never had to deal with that. hopefully someone else can help good luck!

Is your dragon able to get 6-8 inches from the UV while basking?
The crickets are vomit btw..

Yes. Closer in some sections of the tree he climbs in.. If he was sick would he still run around and explore when i have him out?

My female has the same set up and eats like she never eaten before and is shedding too right now. She is nice and fat.. lol

Some dragons loose their appetite when shedding, they can also get grumpy and lethargic seeming. i would bathe the dragon and see if it's appetite doesn't pick up in a day or 2, perhaps it is just feeling a little off, just like with us, they can have their off days/times. But, do bathe everyday. You want to give daily baths to possible sick dragons, they need the extra hydration to help them recover. :wink:

I definitely do that. He just has me so worried. Hes my first and im so attacted to him.. He falls asleep in my bed or on me every night. just dont want anything to happen to him...

Ima try to get him to eat a lil squash and mango after while. Kept him out about 2 hours. Stayed on my shoulder while i walked around the yard. Bright and white. Put him in his tank he climbed up the tree under the basking lamp and dark... Picked him up a few seconds ago brightened up.. Can they get that spoiled?? lol
