beardie keeps closing eyes

could there be any other reasons why my beardie closes his eyes a lot other than being in pain? should I get this checked out? it has been happening for a few weeks now. his uvb and basking lights are on the right side of the tank above him

He looks like hes taking a nice basking break -- if he was in pain or distress his beard would be black -
