Beardie Basking

My beardie dosent bask enough he never does it he just sits around and waits till I feed him, I've had him 4 days, poop is fine , he eats well , he has slight stress marks but maybe he's just different ? He never climbs his basking tree I've seen him do it once but he sits at bottom. Does anyone else have a beardie who does this ?

He may not like the lighting. I would adjust it to get rid of the red lamp and give him a nice bright, warm spot to bask in. Also double check the temperatures using an IR temp gun or a couple of digital thermometers like these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0017N8W90/. You want the basking area to be between about 100-110 on the surface and the cool side surface should be between 75-80 or so during the day. UVB should be over the basking area. That will give him plenty of options to choose from.
