I know they aren't a staple, but I was just wondering if dragons actually like the pellets, or if I can get them as a treat to put on top of salads?
Thanks! :)

Mine have never liked them but some dragons do. Putting on top of salads would be a good idea.

My dragon likes them. I give them to him as treats and I sometimes crush some up and sprinkle his salad with it to give him a little extra green motivation. Be careful though, when my dragon ate quite a bit of them, he ate less live food and his weight dropped. While there could have been other reasons for this (but I don't know what they'd be) it's made me only use them as a treat. (and his weight went back up)
I've recently heard that Beautiful Dragons has some sort of dragon chow for sale that is supposed to be a better substitute?
The pellets I have say right on the label that they are to be fed in addition to live food and veggies. It kind of reminds me of breakfast cereals saying "part of this complete breakfast" and then showing their cereal in the middle of bowels of fruit and plates of eggs and ham and every other breakfast food that ever existed. 8)
I feed crushed pellets to my dubia though, instead of cat food. They eat it right up and say yum. Crickets seem to like it, too.

so, to sum, my dragon eats them and loves them. He only gets five of the small pellets a day, though.
Hope that helps!

I use the pellets as cricket food too. Just crush it up- the crickets gobble it. I do moisten a few pellets and put them on top of the greens. He never eats them but doing this keeps the greens green and moist all day- where as if I don't they dry up fast and look unappetizing in no time. If I noticed him eating them too much I'd cut back though because I know protein needs to be the largest staple right now. My guy won't even sample anything in the dish yet. LOL

I usually put half a spoonful into Kraken's salad every other day. With the misting of the salad, it makes them nice and soft for him. He used to only eat the brown ones, then moved on to the red ones, and now eats them all, and loves them. I have a really hard time getting him to touch his greens, so this is my sneaky way of getting him to accidentally chew on a piece of green too!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
