You're doing your best, every day she lives is a good day! Just keep doing what you're doing, that's all you can do. I would still do the Betadine baths if you can, they may help her, too. At least you're getting her to eat, even if it isn't much, every bit counts.
Keep me posted.
What did the vet say with regards to the tail & the leg especially? Are they infected?
You do have them separated now, correct?
As suggested, continue using a diluted betadine solution daily on the affected areas, along with an antibiotic ointment to help ward off any infection.
I would closely watch that tail, for the discoloration traveling upward on that tail, as it will become a systemic infection & you could lose her to an infection. I would use a non toxic magic marker (water base) to mark the tail where it is discolored now. If it continues to travel upwards it will need to be amputated to help stop the infection.
Which antibiotic did the vet give you?
i used my own antiobiotic cream that the vet approved if you read through the previous posts you might get a better understand the the following i answered to sweetie already if you wanna understand my situation thanks
I asked Tracie to check your thread as she's very experienced with dragons that are injured. So please just give her the name of the antibiotic and anything else she has asked. She's more knowledgable than I am & also has more experience than I do. She's taught me alot of what I know. We're just trying to do what's best for your little girl. So did you get the Betadine? Those baths will do her good & help her skin, so please get that, it's not expensive, you can get it at any pharmacy. Make a small bath & add the betadine until it looks like weak tea & soak her for 10 min, using warm water. I've done it myself & it was Tracie who told me to, it helped ALOT.
We're only trying to help you keep your little one alive.
I know but wouldnt reading our previous post get her a better understanding at what we talked about and what i tried and the antiobio is bacitracin zinc ointment usp first aid antibiotic that i apply gently on her leg and for the bath yes i have gotten it and give her one every 1-3 hours and let her soak for 10min+ also have something she can get on sometimes if she feels uncomfortable in it cause i dont want to stress her out
Thanks for that & I"m glad you've started the baths. Just keep feeding her like you've been doing, if she eat a cricket here or there, that's good, too. I'm praying she'll just get better every day. And as for the tail, it's important that you do put a mark where the dark spot is & keep an eye on it. So far, she's made it & each day is good!
Crickets yes & molted mealworm yes but keep feeding her the rest of the stuff by syringe, too. I'm so glad she's getting better, how do the bites look now?
Hi! I'm glad to hear that there is some improvement. I just want to let you know that Tracie is a very busy lady. She is our resident expert on this forum, and tries to help as many as she can. She juggles many beardies and their keepers in her head, and I am guessing that she doesn't really have the time to re-read and analyze the entire thread each time she is able to pop in to help. Most of us learn quickly that if Tracie is able to offer us advice, we gladly repeat info as often is as necessary. It's not that she doesn't care enough to read every word thoroughly. She cares deeply for all beardies (and we humans, too).
umm as of now her left leg is just dangling like its broken but there no color turning its just normal pink like her skin while her end of the tail is probably comign off since its turning black but not along with the whole tail just the end
Poor little girl, wish there was a way for an injury like that left leg to heal correctly. A friend's beardie broke her leg & she made her a sling, but I don't know how you'd do that for such a small baby. Her dragon was a big adult at the time. It healed up fine, but there were no other injuries. I'm glad that black mark isn't moving up, keep a close eye on it anyway. Is she growing any?
well she so clear that you can see the side of her bones and she doesnt look like she really has any energy or the mood to eat shes really small around 6inch? but a bit smaller then usually including the tail other then that My other dragon is shedding its body and head and his legs i wonder why they shed tail firs then body head and legs its quite interesting but DAYUM he turned furious red his around 8-10inch now not that much bigger
