Basking light distance

Hi just wondering what's the recommended distance from a 100watt basking spot light above the bearded dragon? Thanks

I like to keep basking lights at least 12'' above the basking area both for safety reasons and to ensure there is a wide enough beam over the basking area. Other than that, the height of the bulb will be directly correlated with the temperature reading across the tank. You want it to produce about 100-110 in the basking area with a gradient down to 75-80 or so on the cool side of the tank.
