Baron the Beardie

Just making this to put stories/pictures of Baron in.
I got him on Friday. I think he was laid in Jan/Feb, and he hatched in March but I'm not 100 percent sure.
He's a Super Red, and pretty gentle for now.
Here he is:

No exciting stories about him yet...aside from his logic being "No I don't want dinner 2 hours before my lights go out, Mom" and then 15 minutes before lights go out, he is dancing along the glass where the cricket keeper is and trying to eat them through it.
And then when I go to feed him this morning...nothing. Silly Beardie.

I'll check them out for sure! If you try Titan on Pheonix/Repti's and he still isn't eating well by the time I go down and pick them up, if you want to add some to my order we can work something out! It would be way cheaper then ordering them in Canada for sure.

That would be great, as it is way too expensive for shipping from these online companies, which is why I've never bothered before. Let me know when you go down and we'll figure something out. I would mind trying them out, if he won't eat them, the geckos would, I'm sure. It wouldn't be a waste of $, that's for sure.

Right now I'm planning to go on the 12th of May. I'll be placing an order on the 6th to make sure it arrives at it's destination before the end of that week.

Baron loves the horns. Oh goodness. I hand fed him last night and we had to fight a bit, but this morning he was on his basking rock and I held a piece out to him with tweezers and he gapped his mouth open until I gave it to him and he gobbled it up so quickly. It's kind of hilarious because even though the pieces are small enough for him to eat(between his eyes both ways), it's still a big mouth full for him :lol: .

He ate two big pieces today and some guts, and I left the rest of the worm by his veggies so if he gets hungry hopefully he scopes it out.

Mr. Pets is going to bring in 30 small silks for me this week, should be in on Friday. I hope feeding him the Horns for the rest of the week won't be bad for him?? I know they aren't a staple like other worms...but I'm so happy he's EATING and not being a fuss about it.

But horns are a staple for a lot of beardies, along with silkies, crickets, phoenix worms and supers when they're older. So no problem there & that's great that Mr Pets can bring in some silkies, he should like them just fine!

And yes, I'll be very pleased to get some of your order. 100 medium would be fine, so let me know how much & I'll come over to pick them up when they're delivered and I'll pay you back then. I wasn't sure how many you were ordering, might get a few more, but let me know. It'll be nice to meet you and Baron, too.

I'll be order 10,000 smalls. I can give you a few cups because I won't miss them I'm sure and we can just work out a price. They grow pretty quick(and get quite large!) if you gut load them(there's a post in Feeders about it).

Oh that would be great! You'll have to let me know when you're back. And the post on phoenix worms just became a sticky and maybe an article, which is great news. They sure do grow if they're fed, so I'll be looking into that. Sounds easy!

Baron is being...weird today? He's being kind of listless almost. He wouldn't eat the bits of worm I offered him(only swallowing a bit of gut) and is lying really flat on his basking rock. Normally he would be standing up.
I don't know what's wrong...He ate last night. He was lying in a cool spot when I went to take him out for breakfast, and I put him on his basking rock after he wouldn't eat and he's got his head perked up now(after maybe 10 minutes).

Am I just fretting to much?

Edit: Def fretting to much. He's standing up and looking way more alert then before. I'm still worried of him not eating, but I'll figure something out.

Sometimes they just don't feel like eating. They definitely know how to make us worry about EVERY little thing! Lol.

I don't have a car, though, so I only make the trip once or twice a year with friends now.
