hello people when i first bought my babies i bought 2 of them, there was always a big guy and a smaller guy, but now it looks as though the smaller guy is always having his/her arm on top of the big guy is that normal, and the babies are only 1 1/2 month old, and it seems as thogh the bigger guy/gal doesnt seem to move as much

Sounds like you have them together? In that case, it sounds to me, the little one is dominating the bigger one. Showing it who's boss, best to separate them asap.

The smaller one isn't doing anything harmful its just that hes always next to him, either having his arm on top of him or just really close to him

Its harmful, you just don't see it. Its dominance is is causing stress on your dragons, just because there is no physical harm doesn't mean there is no harm. How would you like it to constantly be living with someone who is always dominating you and preventing you from doing things. Dragons are not social creatures they need separate tanks, it is something that is constantly talked about around here. I've seen what dragons can do to each other, even babies. Serious problems can happen, besides injury or death the stress on your dragons can make them sick.

You NEED to separate them, or you are risking their health.

That is dominance, and it is stressful on your other dragon. Smaller or not he is saying i'm in charge and your other dragon will suffer for it.

I will say it again you have to separate them. Also judging by the size of that tank you will need to get bigger ones as they get older. Adult bearded Dragons need a min of a 40 gallon tank.

Look I was where you are right now, when I first got my dragon I did everything the pet store told me and they nearly killed her on me, the people here are wonderful and helped me give Thil the best possible life and that is what i'm trying to do for you. They are not 'friends' they don't like each other, they need to be separated or you risk injury or sickness, stress can and will shorten theirs lives.

OK, will do, they are in a ten gallon right know, and i have a 50 gallon for them,i thought i would them in when they got a little older, so you are suggesting i do it now? they are only 1 1/2 month old

I agree, separation is necessary. I have two young juvie bearded dragons and the smaller one Charlie always dominates the larger Argon at any opportunity which is why I keep in separate tanks. Even if you think the smaller one can't hurt the bigger one, problems can still occur like others have said.

You can put them in the 50 gallon but you will need to divide it and when they get older you will need to buy another tank. A 50 gallon is good for ONE ADULT and ONE ONLY.

I totally didn't even see that was sand I thought it was repti carpet.

Look I know this is a lot to take in at once and it seems like we are just complaining about everything but i've been here for about two years and I've seen a lot of new people that come on and we give advice, some take it some don't and more often then not the ones that don't end up with sick or dead dragons. Pet stores give terrible advice like I said, and often end up causing deaths of the animals they sell.

I'm not going to preach to you about sand but I am going to link to something you should read. There are a lot of owner who have lost dragons because of sand and it is a very touchy subject.

Everyone here Loves dragons and we do everything we do to make sure people get to experience the best of them and not have to deal with issues pet stores cause. We want whats best for you and your dragons, nothing less.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
