Are CHE's supposed to go off and on on their own?

yes, fixture is for CHE. darnit.
also, petsmart isn't selling zoomed CHE anymore, they are only selling their own brand, 'all living things'. do you approve? its smaller, thinner I think then zoomed, black colored( not light of course) instead of the usual ceramic white...

I fiddled with the bulb and now its working again, might be a short in the fixture itself, I will check by switching it out and seeing. and no, as far as I know CHE all day and all night is important, they are in my air conditioned house and I keep things cool in here, like 76 degrees.

76 degrees is a good temperature for the cool side. CHE's really only need to be used at nighttime if temps are dropping under 65.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
