Hi guys, I know a lot of the threads about lighting don't get answers because the amount of threads about them......

I have read through a lot of threads on lighting and Im still very confused.

Is the arcadia the best? or the Reptisun 10? From what I understand the arcadia is, producing 12% uvb... right? but until recently they weren't available in the US. This is the bulb that I think I need.

I will also need a fixture, from what I understand I can use one from a home store like Lowes or Walmart. Like a regular under the cabinet fixture?

Like this fixture?

I'm on a strict budget (I'm a college kid) and I want to make sure I invest in the right stuff.

All I really need to know is if those two things are compatible and are going to produce good high quality UVB..
I need to be able to just put the bulb into the fixture and mount the fixture, I'm not smart enough to have to any converting, or re-wiring, etc.
Thanks.

Out of the two, I'd say the Arcadia is the better.

That fixture you linked to will work, but obviously you will want it to be longer, the length of your bulb. You will also want to remove that plastic light diffuser from the fixture.

I'm just having a hard time finding a fixture that is 18' and a t5, is it ok to mix a t8 fixture with t5 bulb? Are they even compatible? Sorry for all the questions. I'm just nervous I will mess this up.

A t5 bulb will fit in a t8 fixture, only because a t5 is smaller than a t8. But, it will be loose, and there won't be a good connection.

I highly suggest only using a t5 fixture if using a t5 sized bulb.

The website you are buying the arcadia from, also sells fixtures.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
