Hey just curious if anyone with a solar meter who enjoys testing different bulbs lol like I would do if I had a solar meter lol šŸ˜‚ would or has run some figures on an Arcadia 14% unreflected? I was curious if it would be similar to a 12% reflected as far as distance from bulb to basking surface? Thank you šŸ™

I haven't tested one of those yet (on the todo list). I did come across some results that include the 14% with no reflector. I'm not familiar with the source, so take it with a grain of salt. It looks like the 14% spits out UVI 4.8 at 22'' to start with, and degrades over the course of a year down to 1.6 (4.5 w/reflector, which is just about right IMO). There is a comparison to the 12%, but that is sitting at 13'' rather than 22''.

Wow so 22ā€ under the bulb without reflector still produces 4.8!! Am I reading that correctly? Or are those numbers all with the reflector so 22ā€ inches w/ reflector produces 4.8?

22'' with a reflector produces 7.2 (at first) and 4.8 without - these are pretty serious bulbs intended for very large spaces. That's why I usually recommend the 12% version in most cases.

is there any numbers for UVI as you move out from directly under the bulb? In most enclosures the basking bulb is several inches out from underneath the t5 I wish there was some data for those readings as you move out from directly underneath the bulb. In my case my basking area is 4/5 inches in front of the t5 and itā€™s about 10 inches from the bulb but itā€™s several inches in front and directly underneath the bulb he can be about 13 inches so higher UVB with less heat. Where the heat is the highest the UVB is lower even though technically itā€™s closer to the bulb just in front of it. Does anyone have this kind of data so you can see how the output decreases as move out from under the bulb?
