he has some black spikes near his cheek i cant put up pix cuz i dont have a camrea it said on another site that he is challenging me and if hes eating and pooing normally not to worry but i am. any help??

The spikes can change to black just like the beard of course this generally happens when they are angry,feeling ill or wanting to mate so yes if they are changing to black when you approach him then it is him giving you a warning to back off.With that said I would ignore the warning and go right ahead and show him who's boss!

but its not when i approach him its stays like that and wont change back! he is only 4 1/2 mo

would he be ready to breed so young?

No he wouldnt be ready to breed yet.Sometimes the black coloration can be consatnt and normal,as part of their natural color.Other then the color do the spikes look normal?Any problems with shedding in that area?

its all good now they changed back to thier normal creamy white colour thanks for helping but it was a false alarm.

as to the rest of the ppl here feel free to take over this forum if you want!!
