Anti bot during sign up?

Can we please get a anti bot filter for sign up, you know one of those pictures with a word or whatever, the name of this slips me at the moment.

There actually IS a CAPTCHA on the registration form. It's been there for a while. However, many of the bot technologies are getting much better at beating even the top captchas. In many instances, they will even copy the image shown to the bot, and re-display it on some other high use site (like a porn site) so people would enter the captcha value to get their porn, and the bot would then use that to finish the registration. It's hard to beat them all. We try to catch them when they register and post. And I also try to block subnets that seem to originate a lot of those accounts (if possible). But they still continue to plague the net. We do what we can.

CAPCHA that is what I was looking for, I do not remember if it was there when I registered. However I was unaware of the conniving behavior of the new generation bots. :?
