Thank you Mistygirl!!!! All prayers are most appreciated and are helping!!! You are so right AHBD, it is very touch and go right now! He hasn't pooped today though he acted like he wanted to. I gave him a warm bath, massaged his belly and gave him a few drops of mineral oil to help him pass the Carnivore Care and the slurries. I hope he can go tomorrow!

In his condition and with the small amount of food he's taking in and absorbing he probably won't have a b.m every day, I wouldn't worry about that, even healthy adults don't always go every day. Some large dragons go every 3,4 or even 5-6 days.

He has always been regular and he would not get out of the bath. I would lift him out and he would get back in. He kept lifting his tail and straining . He usually does his biz in the bath. He was getting very agitated when he could not go poor baby....

Oh, I see, I didn't realize how he was straining to go....I can understand in those circumstances, I hope the oil helps. Some people use olive oil or canned pumpkin as well, it may even be a little safer.

Pico just died in my arms about 20 minutes ago. I feel like my heart has been ripped out of my chest and stomped on....thank you everyone for all the help you offered......I will still be on here about Tango and any other lizards I get but I will still be Pico's Parent because he will always be my sweet little baby.....I am just holding his body and sobbing. I am so glad he is out of pain but the void I feel will never go away....I can't believe he is gone....

Oh, wow, I'm so, so sorry Pam. You went above and beyond to try to figure anything you possibly could, he was just tired and had a rough start in life. I know your'e devastated.... I'm soooo sorry ! All condolences to your family.

Sososososo sorry to hear about Pico. You will always have the memories that you two shared, and he is out of pain now. He held on so long because he loved you. You did everything you possibly could for him, and he knows that. You were such an amazing parent.

Thank you AHBD , Beardie Mommy & Esther....I know I need to put him in a box and put him in the freezer so the vet can do an autopsy but I can't bear the thought.....my hubby took that nyquil sleep stuff before Pico started dying and he fought so hard to stay awake with me but I told him to go to bed....now it's almost two hours since he died and I can't stop petting him....his eyes are still open and he doesn't look dead.....I know he is and I know I have to put him in the freezer but the mere thought is beyond comprehension right now...it just feels so wrong. But I will because I want his death to mean something and it will because Dr. Wright will learn from it and be able to help other beardies. I am going to try to go do that now and then hopefully get some sleep with the help of nyquil for sleep too.

I suppose you could hold him a while longer. Close his eyes if you can, so he looks like he's sleeping. Wrap him in his blankie for a while, then put the blankie in the box. My heart is bleeding with yours.

Thank you ladies. I am sitting here with him knowing what I need to do, instead I am going to search on here for any beardies that need rescue in my state. The support I have gotten from all of you means more than you can imagine!!! Hugs of thanks to all of you!!!

You have so much love and caring to offer. The nearest rescue might be your own Petsmart or Petco. Many horror stories on the forum lately. Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way. Please give Pico a kiss for me.

I am so sorry about your loss of your dear, sweet Pico. Prayers and hugs. It is good you are going to try and find out what happened and it could help others. That is so caring of you. You did everything you could do and then some.

I did kiss him for you Esther and thank you Mistygirl. If crying caused weight loss, I would be down to a size 2 today.....so depressed. My little Tango is upset too and missing his "big brother" so I am trying to be as normal around him as possible but we are both so sad. I am very thankful Pico was with me when he died. If it had happened when I was at work and came home to find him that way, I could not have handled it at all!!! My vet is on vacation til mid-week so I had to put Pico in the freezer. To put him in a box and then in the freezer absolutely made me ill. My wonderful hubby is building him a nice coffin and he has been on Craigslist trying to find me a rescue to save. He also hand washed my car for me.....I think it's because my crying makes him cry and he needed an escape and still wanted to be helpful and supportive. I am so blessed to have him. I thank all of you for your support through this rough time. You truly are a community of loving people and I am so glad to be a member of this site. God Bless all of you!!!
