Hi all! I forget if it belongs here or in health. Our stubborn Big Lizard (17 months almost 1lb) decided to try and dive bomb of my daughter (my hubby was with her when this happened, I was downstairs with my younger one). as he came close to landing on floor my daughter caught him and apparently she heard a snap. I did not learn of this until 24 hrs later after she came down and hubby and her said he was blackbearding because he couldnt do what he wanted--well no wonder he black bearded! WHY you may ask???
The next day his arm was hanging funny. We got him into the vet this morning (who I think is in love with him) and learned that he had BROKEN HIS ARM!!!! He is to wear a splint for 2 weeks, get outside in the regular sun up to 2 hrs a day, and still take his calcium 3-4 days a week. On the positive side he conveniently pooped a GOOD poop while he was there and she did an immediate test and he still is clear of parasites!!!!
Here are some pictures of him in his splint--he isnt very happy about it as his rock was removed and I left his cactus, his log and then made some piles of towels so he could get close enough to the UVB and basking light but also get down if he wishes too.
This poor guy has been thru a lot but seems happy anyway at 17 months.
Silly boy--we told him no breaking the other arm in the process!
