Since this is my first ever post HEY YALL!
Alright now to the main concerns, Weve recently adopted toothless off someone who could no longer care for him, I’m deff taking him to the vet for a check up, I’ve had him about 2 weeks now trying to get him accommodated without Over stressing his situation, this is my first personal beardie but I’ve had to handle quite a few of them working at a pet shop but never came across one with his temperament, Now we’ve noticed that he literally refuses to eat ANYTHING asked prior owner if he had any health concerns We should be worried about (keep in mind I’m still taking him to the vet as I don’t fully trust his ‘perfect health’ conditions) which she stated he had parasites that were treated and dealt with ASAP, during the first week he started losing weight to the point his skin was sagging would refuse crickets and only eat a max of two if we were lucky we’ve had the hardest time finding any veggies he’ll even try or fruits for that matter (hes 3 btw) his enclosure is retrofitted to perfect conditions, new heat lamp, 10.0 uvb bulbs, gradient heat to cool And a good sized tank that was used to house another dragon for 10 years, now I suspect he has the starts of MBD as within the first week I noticed the tremors, she was only ever giving him calcium without any D3 or muti vitamins ( I’ve had to put him on calcium+d3, a multi vitamin and an electrolyte) I also noticed the lighting she gave me was .. excuse my language but complete trash, he had a heat lamp that was put on its side due to the type of lamp it is and a purple heat light, No UVB anywhere In sight which is why I suspect he’s got the starts of MBD, I’ve been able to slow the tremors by getting his husbandry to pretty much perfect along with supplementing with the vitamins and electrolytes and so far I’ve been able to get him to gain a bit of weight with mealworms, now I know mealworms are a huge topic of wether it’s good or not so I’m trying to find another staple that is healthy that he’ll have a hard time refusing as he’s the Most PICKY dragon I’ve ever met, as well as any other suggestion that might help with reversing the MBD as it’s not extremely bad and if you didn’t know what to look for you wouldn’t even notice it, he’s also slightly aggressive when it comes to certain people and has only started warming up to me which also makes me suspect he wasn’t handled much or properly, any tips and tricks on that ? He’ll legit be fine one day and the next like he’s possessed any suggestions help as he truly is the sweetest boy when he’s chilled out and I refuse to give up on him like his prior owner
(don’t mind the substrate that’s being switched out)
