Addiction! Can't get enough!

Oh yea,my grandaughter will know the routine................but at 4 she can't drive herself over my house and the viv I have is 50 gal. Maybe by then I'll meet another slave who lives nearby and we can trade beardie babysitting. So far only heard from owners in San Diego, SF Valley, San Dimas. Need Mission Viejo, Laguna,
Lake Forest and Irvine.

Hi, I'm the 70 yr old grandma with Sandy, my 5 month old BD. Fer sure, I'm addicted..........thinking of all the healthy foods for her - shopping for organic and making sure I have enough phoenix, silkies and crickets... had the bright idea of getting seeds to grow some alfalfa (in a big pot) - live in southern california so weather is good. I probably spend too much time on our site - but HEY........I'm retired and can do what I want. Have to laugh sometimes at my concern for her - every day I take her outside and read a magazine while she enjoys the sunshine in her little kitty travel bag with the mesh sides. All my grandchildren enjoy her --- some family who haven't seen her yet will be over for Thanksgiving - that'll be a kick. Just defrosted some sweet peas - her fav.
Don't give them everyday (per the Beautiful Dragon food chart). Don't plan on getting any more - she takes up my time and $$ and of course, space with the 50 gal viv. Having a blast! May buy her a hammock.

Beardies are awsum...Malibu is fast asleep in her fleece in her viv. w/ the shorter days i take her
out & get her into her beardie burrito about 6pm if i don't i get the death glare from across the room.she sees its dark out & looks from me to the window,from me to the window..like would you shut the shade already...can't you see i am ready for bed.I put a squashy pillow in her viv for the winter & shes in heaven.

Hi, my name is Jeff and I'm a beardie/BD.org addict! I haven't looked at this in a while and was afraid it was locked. Let's all have a round of refreshing addiction venting!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

My most recent episode involved my feeder breeding. After all, beardies GOTTA eat! I now have 3 roach bins. The biggest one is for breeders. A slightly smaller one is for feeders. Another one (a large critter keeper) is for the day to day feeding that I refill once or twice a week from the bigger feeder bin. I'm constantly telling my wife and kids not to throw away leftover veggies, fruit or cereal. As I child, my mom used to tell me that there were starving children all over the world and that I needed to eat all of my food so it wouldn't go to waste. NOW I can feed the food I don't eat to the food that my beardie will eat :laughhard: and make my momma proud!!! :laughhard: :laughhard: :laughhard:

Hi- My name is Sandy and I'm going through withdrawal! Bogie is still semi-brumating. The only thing that keeps the DTs away is he wakes every 4 or 5 days for a bath and some exploration. But I have to share him with the kids. How do I get through brumation without getting another one? Do I want to get through brumation without getting another one? :lol:

Okay, so apparently I have a new addiction. Everything Bearded Dragon-ish. We have only had Mango for 2 weeks. He is only 2 1/2 months old. I am on BD.org all day everyday! It's like I'm the BD and this site is the waxworm. It's all I want and all I think about! Help Me! HAHA! I am in grad school and I'm supposed to be working on a major assignment right now, but NO! I'm typing this post about my new found addiction. All day, I sit and think about what feeder am I going to try next, which would be the best feeder for the price for Mango, when should I switch to a bigger tank, should I try to build the next enclosure, should I try to breed Dubia to save money, when should I get another BD (cause I want one already), should I try to breed, how do I covince my wife of all of this stuff, I wonder what silkworms taste like (I know this is gross, but they look juicy!), and on and on and on.

Just now, I re-read the first paragraph and it reaffirms my addiction. I'm using words like "feeder" and "enclosure" and "Dubia". BTW, I intend to become one of "The Roach People" soon. I too want to have thicker, fuller hair and to be more attractive to the opposite sex . I think I need to join a support group. How about Beared Dragons Anonymous? We could call it BDA. It goes along with all the other acronyms I have learned in such a short period of time like MBD, UVB, GG, PW, etc.

I really need to do my school work!

Lol I was just leaving a post saying the same and I only had Yoda a day if that lololol. we ought to start a self help group bd's anon or something lol. I too am on here all day reading everything and learning and laughing about all things beardie. Checking ebay for anything good for her - I am tooo sad lololol Have fun with me in beardie addicition its a great place to be enjoy !!!

Okay I have already admitted I'm an addict back on page 3. Back in Sept I wanted another after having my baby for like two weeks. Well I finely got my wish. I bought Trouble from Howlingale from Nicole and I will receive her on Wednesday. I'm so excited. I'm also addicted to this forum. I'm a 39 yr old stay at home mom and most of my attention goes to my Harley. I have to sneak on this site on the weekends because my husband gets jealous I think. It's cute. Right now he is putting my our 3 yr old to bed. See Ya

Well I'm having beardie withdrawals everyone...as all, but Bender are asleep.
So I traded for a new addiction until my beardies decide to wake up. :silent:

I'm now obsessed with bugs! Me....I never liked bugs! :shock:

I think my beardies are a bad influence. :lol:
They now have me hooked on breeding roaches, supers, an as of yesterday silkies. The bugs addiction is taking control. I can't stop checking to see the growth of my supers and now I'm checking the hatching and growth of silkies. Silkies grow heck a fast. My order arrived last night an about a dozen of the eggs were already hatched, within 2 hours about 200 had hatched, this morning all of the eggs are hatched. I can almost watch them grow right before my eyes. I know that I have said in the past that I'd just buy silkies, as they are such a booger to grow, but I can't help myself. I'm now using my beardie egg incubator for raising silkworms.

Does the addiction ever stop? :help: :dontknow: :laughing6: NOT! Or should I say I hope not. :wink:
I guess having an addictive personallity doesn't help, eh?

The courage to change the things I can........
Find something else to fill the void that will benefit your beardies.
And the wisedom to know the difference.......
Bugs will never replace my beardie addiction, but boy will my beardies be eating good when they wake up.

I'd love to raise my own bugs too. But can't you just see Daniel, he's 4 remember, freeing all the bugs in his room? Or worse, mine. Or super bad-"helping" me cook dinner with Bogie's tasty food. A 4 year old boy believes "If it's good to feed the pets, I can eat it too!" :laughhard:
Of corse Katherine would try to name them all and for bid me to even think about feeding them to Bogie!
I'm glad Bogie is awake, Think I'll go get my dragon fix.
Barbara- go snuggle Bender and play with your bugs. The others will be up soon. We hope! :lol:
