I just bought my son a 30 gallon tank for our 6 mos. old beardie. Is that to large for him? or do you think as he grows it will be fine?

Really? wow!, I thought a 30 gallon would be large enough, I have my older beardie in one - he is 17" long. He honestly doesnt do anything in it but bask and sleep anyway? how big is your tank?

Wow, yea, because I have never seen them that big over here. I honestly thought a 30 gallon was big enough for my 17" beardie. She really doesnt move much or utilize most of her cage anyway. Although, I do have a baby beardie who is 5 mos. old that I think will benefit from a bigger one, he LOVES to walk around and jump off of things - he will probably end up being quite large. Building my own does seem like a good idea. :D

I just think its fair ya no?
still want bigger ones, They have a roam around, sit on different objects..
and it can stunt growth having smaller viv...
40 gal i seen as the smallest for adults :)

I have my 16" Bearded Dragon in a 75 gallon tank as well. It was given to us by a friend, but you could try Craigslist or your local classifieds.

Good luck in your search!

People are always trying to get rid of tanks. Should be easy to find one for a decent deal.

Well, my son went out and bought a 30 gallong for his 6 mos. old beardie and spent $100.00 bucks at Petco... WOW!, how ridiculous was that? I do have a question though, I have a 1 year old female and she is 17" long in a 30 gallon tank. She is EXTREMELY lazy and does not move, she is literally in the same spot she is when I get home. Do you think a bigger tank would be a waste of my money for her to be in?

No... she might even start running around more in a bigger tank, and it will provide her with a more comfy space!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
