Hi, I just recently bought a ZooMed 160W Mercury Vapor UVB bulb and was wondering if it is bad for my Bearded dragon? He is dunnor and only 3 months old? My major concern is some spreading info about these lights causing bearded dragons to go blind? Any info would be greatly appreciated and he is in a 40gal breeder tank! Thank you...

The Powersun bulbs are OK. They are powerful though so I wouldn't mount it any closer than 15'' above the basking spot. If you need additional heat with the MVB at that height, you can add a small ceramic heat emitter or regular basking bulb next to it at a height that gets the basking area to an appropriate temperature (100-110 or so).

Its working out great but the heat is only around 92 degree Fahrenheit but thats the bottom of a 40 gal tank and I have placed giant Pond rocks for my beardies to climb and perch on!! that measure to be above 110!!

Also, note that there are two phase of the light. When you turn it on, it will be yellow which then turns to white. I'm assuming, that's the UVB affect!!

Yeah. Street lights use mvb. It takes them a minute to burn hot enough to reach max output. So I'd imagine it's very similar.
