    Lost beardie in AZ!!

You can try making a bunch of rock hides/caves, and check them all at night. Beardies love to hide when the sun goes down and the temp starts to drop.

    Lost beardie in AZ!!

It could be worse, you could live in a not so friendly climate. In AZ, I'd say the toughest challenge would be him finding edible fruits & veggies. I'm in So Cal, and I've had a few reptiles escape, but I eventually found them. A month ago I found a columbian boa in my backyard. Turned out to be...

    New Cave Grotto Project

After the final cement I will airbrush, then a little drybrush for highlighting. But I want to keep as much rough texture as possible, so it files Zeek's nails down. Then finishing touches like stones, plants, etc. I have 4 aquariums running, with another 3 that are empty and full of misc...

    Nail trimming?

How were you planning to hold the sandpaper in place?

    RAISING humidity?

I would try the container of water, and cover a portion of the top of the tank with anything you have around the house (a piece of plastic, glass, or possibly cardboard). I would cover directly above the water. If you go this route, obviously keep a close eye so it doesn't get too high. I'm...

    Sleeping spot

Zeek goes back and forth between sleeping on his log, inside the log, in his cave, on a tree branch, or just straight on the substrate. As long as they're comfortable and feel safe, that's all they care about.

    New Cave Grotto Project

I had some leftover supplies from the custom background I did for one of my aquariums, so I decided to put them to use. I've only finished part 1 of 4 of cementing the styrofoam, but I will update each day with new pics.

    Cricket problem

I put my beardie in a small 10g tank to eat his crickets. They hide too much in his 60g home, and he seems content with letting them stay rent free. It solved it for me.

What kind? And is he normal?

Looks a lot like Zeek with his patterns. Definitely nothing wrong with being a norm. :-)

    Black beard and black tail?

You can blackout the sides of their new tank that face each other. They'll still be very aware of the other beardie, but at least they won't see each other. I would say 80% of people getting rid of animals is simply from neglect, and no longer wanting the responsibility. It doesn't help when...

    Possible MBD?

Is it possible he consumed too many foods containing oxalates (spinach, grapes, strawberries, and the rest of a long list)? If it is MBD, I highly doubt this is the culprit, since he should be eating mainly crickets and/or worms. Figured it couldn't hurt to pose the question during the...

    RAISING humidity?

You can try keeping a large container (30+ ounces) of water in their tank, with a secure lid and holes punched in it (not large enough for any critters to crawl in). The real pain is keeping the humidity in. The larger the surface area of the top of the tank, the more it will just naturally...

    Live plants

Although they're kind of an eyesore weed, dandelions should be pretty easy to grow.

    Arm waving for no reason?

Could very well be just a non-dominant/alpha male. Zeek is a wuss too. He submits to other males, my dogs, and even me.

    Arm waving for no reason?

Every bearded dragon is different. Animals don't have the same awareness of their own size like humans do. This is why you will sometimes see smaller males going at it with larger ones, because they don't dissect the data the same way. For the cricket eating issue I would suggest a separate...
