Cricket problem

Hello! So I recently posted a Mushu update and I got good tips from you all. I went online and bought a bulk of crickets for Mushu. Getting them out of the box and into the cricket keeper was a lot harder then I thought. Anyways, I put in around 30 crickets into his tank and he ate all of them. Later that day for his second feeding I put in a couple more. He ate his veggies but not crickets. No worries. So I left the crickets in there and two days later the same crickets are in there. He has been eating his veggies and super worms ( I thought of getting super worms instead of meal worms a try) I put calcium powder on the super worms. But now I'm worried he's not going to eat the crickets and I don't want the crickets I have to die off or even worse, reproduce and I end up having thousands of crickets! Some advice would be helpful! Thank you!

I put my beardie in a small 10g tank to eat his crickets. They hide too much in his 60g home, and he seems content with letting them stay rent free. It solved it for me.

Okay! I will try putting him in a smaller tank to eat because he does love in a 55g tank. Thank you!

I bought 1,000 crickets for the first time last month. It was WAY too many. I ended up putting about 75% of them in a plastic container and throwing them in the freezer. Now I just pour some on my beardie's veggies everyday. He loves them.

I didn't know you could put them in the freezer? How interesting thanks for letting me know!

My juvie beardie could go through 1,000 crickets in under a month. I'm surprised at the rate at which some beardies go through their feeders. However, I never limited her consumption. I would let her eat for a good 15 minutes, if she scarfed the ones up I put in her feeder tote I gave her more . . . she always quit eating & wanted out of her tote before 15 minutes was up. Boy there were days she attacked them a gobbled them up and then there were days she seemed uninterested. She easily consumed 30-50 per feeding and I feed her twice a day. I recently (mid June) switched her to phoenix worms, super worms and wax worms (treats). I like these much better than the smelly crickets although they are not any cheaper than internet crickets :( , and as much as my husband complained about the crickets he still complains about bugs being in the house  My Gizzy doesn't seem interested in anything that doesn't move, freezing would have been a nice alternative.

I will look into getting a tote for him to eat in. Also I was thinking about getting another beardie. Could they both live in the same tank if they are opposite gender? I wanted to get a baby girl beardie that I had been eyeing on for a while but I don't know if that would be possible since Mushu would be bigger then her.

They are solitary creatures by nature, some people have kept pairs together with success but it doesn't always work and isn't recommended. They can also be territorial and the size difference could stress one or both of them out. Plus if they're of different sexes the potential for breeding (and over-breeding) can be too much for them as well once they reach adulthood. At which point you would have to separate them anyway.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
