    Rehoming Beardie in Chicago

Hi all, I have a 6 year old leatherback named Norbert who I unfortunately need to rehome since I am moving back to college and my parents are unable to care for him to the degree he deserves. Norbert is very sweet and adventurous, and I was wondering if any of y'all have suggestions for how to...

    Bearded dragon underweight not eating???

I have a 1.5 year beardie who is generally active and alert, but has not been eating his greens at all. I always offer them but he hasn't been eating them and he is 19 inches but only about 269 grams ?. He just refused to eat veggies and will only eat some bugs at a time. How do I help him...

    Underweight/lack of appetite

Thanks I'll try to get a fecal... I did try supers a week or two ago and he usually ate all of the ones I've offered. I also tried hissers but he wasn't as interested. He hasn't popped in a few days and I tried a long soak today but all he was interested in was trying to escape the tub lol. He's...

    Underweight/lack of appetite

So lately my bearded dragon, Norbert, has been eating less and less. I've tried to transition him to veggies (I mostly feed collards I grow in my garden) but I still give dubia every day/every other day. However he's just been ignoring his food. He used to be a little pig-- gobbling up whatever...

    Eye Mucus

I made a thread about this earlier but I forgot to respond because I scheduled a veterinary appointment. However this was canceled and so I am once again inquiring about the issue. My bearded dragon, Norbert is almost a year old and starting three months ago I started to notice his left eye had...

    Baby beardy not eating

No, it takes a few weeks usually to adjust, and having her eat already is quite good. As long as her appetite picks up in a few week's you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Why are people so ewww? Tired of it!!

I've gotten similar reactions as well lol. When the days get warmer I take my beardie outside to the park and he'll ride around on his leash on my shoulder. I get a lot of funny looks, and I've even had people move their children to one side of them like they're afraid my 12 inch little thing...

Plants to put in bearded dragon tank

The thing with plants are your beardie will almost definitely attempt to eat the plant or the soil which can cause impaction or poisoning, so having them in high pots where they can't reach the plants is good. The soil can raise humidity also, so make sure you have good ventilation. A good video...

    QUESTIONS ON BABY BEARDIE

I agree with Cooper Dragon, upgrading to a larger tank whenever you want is fine, and you have about half a year. I changed to a larger one when my beardie was about 8-10 inches probably give or take. However, if you are concerned that he'll be stressed in his new, bigger cage, as a baby you can...

    Lizard Hand-me-downs

I have an adolescent beardie, and lately he's been growing out of, well, everything. He just outgrew a small half log hidey hole which I replaced with a large fake rock cave. Anyway, my brother has a baby crested gecko and the hidey hole fits perfectly into its cage. However, my bearded dragon...

    Cost of ADV testing?

I don't know how much could have been caused by ADV as it sounds like a result of those bad conditions, but I had my bd tested when he was a baby for ADV which was around $70 if I remember correctly, plus money for appetite stimulation and calcium supplementation. My guy has ADV but the actual...

Want to get a leash for Reptar

I don't know if you've made up your mind about making one or not but I myself am not a very talented person in the creative area so I just measured my little guy and bought one from beardeddragon.co. Worked very well for me and came in a bunch of adorable colors. Hope you find something that...

Hatchling beardie question - black beard and head bobbing.

"He" sounds cute, baby silkies are so adorable! He seems to be doing quite well for a new baby. I honestly don't think gender personalities are all that different for bds it really just depends on the dragon. However, I understand the need for wanting to sex them though as it feels like a big...

Landlord needs convincing Dubias aren't going to escape.

My parents nearly cried when I first told them I wanted roaches in the house. However, this is the argument I made and the reason for me now having them in my house. They cannot breed in any climate that is not very very humid and tropical as well as around 80 degrees, so if they do escape they...

    Can I use this?

I use textured porcelain for my beardie and he is fine on it. As long as he can get traction and isn't sliding around he'll be perfectly fine.

is my bearded dragon to close to the light?

I would agree with AHBD it does seem to be a little close to him. When I first got my bd he was too close to his light and thus had eye problems and was closing his eyes a lot. Just monitor him to see if he shows any signs of discomfort. He sure is a cutie though!
