Eye Mucus

I made a thread about this earlier but I forgot to respond because I scheduled a veterinary appointment. However this was canceled and so I am once again inquiring about the issue. My bearded dragon, Norbert is almost a year old and starting three months ago I started to notice his left eye had sunken in a bit and started to fill with mucus. It was during his brimstone, which was induced by a short period where he had an old UVB and no basking bulb. However that was fixed after around 4 days (now he has proper temps and a reptisun 10.0). His eye still is mucus-y though and it is closed quite often. I would attach a picture but I haven't used photoshop in a while and am kind of confused on how to upload one, though I'll try my best. I'm worried about my little guy. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Claire.....is there any loose substrate in the tank like sand, crushed walnut, etc ? Hopefully it's none of that brimstone you have in there [ LOL, I'm sorry , couldn't help myself ! I'm sure that spellcheck turned brumation into brimstone ] Anyway, if so take it out right away. Other than that, try some unpasteurized honey in the eye [ the kind from a health store ] Mix it with 2 parts warm water [ warm water just thins it out ] and apply with a Q-tip 2-3 X a day or by syringe. If it's not better soon you might take him to an exotics vet.....they would probably prescribe Terramycin drops. But try the honey, it works very well as an antimicrobial for wounds and eye irritation.
