    THANK GOD THANK GOD!!!

Yay! So glad that he liked them. I am needing to order another round, this time a bit larger order, 150 was not enough the first time, hehe.

    Phoenix Worms ordered!

Yeah, mine is a baby, about 6-7 inches. I am about to place another order so I can have them for her in the AM then feed dusted crickets in the evening. I think that would work out much better with my current schedule, and her sleep patterns... she needs her sleep, hehe.

    Phoenix Worms ordered!

Not sure there is anything special you need to do. Just offer them to him. What I did was wash them off and place them in a straight sided dish and mine went nuts for them the first time I placed them in her cage. Only after this did I learn that they can crawl out if they remain wet while in...

    Phoenix worm questions

From what I have read, kale is a calcium binder, which means it will effectively take away the calcium that you are giving your dragon. I would honestly stay away from it if you can, especially when your dragon is very young and needs the calcium more as it's bones are growing very rapidly.

    Phoenix worm questions

I got mine at phoenixworms.com. They seem really healthy and the shipping was only $6, which is nice. I think there may be some cheaper alternatives from what I have read, but I don't think it is that much cheaper. I might check out some of the others on future orders, we will see.

It does, thanks so much for the information! I might have to get a straight sided bowl to use.

    Phoenix worm questions

Hi all, Just got my first batch of phoenix worms and she loves them! I am sure these questions have been answered before, but was unable to find them. What is the best way you have found to clean them off and get them to the bowl without losing too much of their substrate? I have a feeding...

    We finally took the plunge!

I'm good, lol. Funny thing is, since I had to buy a lot of the equipment to make it it wasn't really much cheaper to make it than to just buy. I used the timeless enclosure plans though and it has the stand directions, too, which is nice.

    We finally took the plunge!

Thanks, it looks a bit neater now. I did some cable management with the probes and now have her bowl of greens and one of my daughter's shirts in there for her, too. Still stressed, so I hope that she comes around soon.

    We finally took the plunge!

So after a few months of research and building my enclosure and trying to choose the right dragon, we finally got one. This is my 8yo daughter's first real pet, besides our dog. She named her(I think) Lizzy. We got her this past Saturday. She still has some relocation stress so we are trying to...

What time of day should/can I feed?

Hi, Would you mind sharing the info you have on starting/maintaining a colony, or is there a good website? I have done some searches, but you never know which are going to give you good results. Thanks

What time of day should/can I feed?

Yeah, it is definitely cheaper to buy online in bulk. Do you have any experience with premiumcrickets.com? Is there another place you could recommend to buy them? I currently have a 35 gal tub I am going to use to keep them, is that too big in your experience? I bought the bigger bin in hopes...

What time of day should/can I feed?

I am also curious as to how many I should buy at a time. I was thinking of just getting 1000, but afraid that it would take too long for a baby to go through those before they either die or grow too big. Any thoughts? Should I just try and do Phoenix worms instead?

    New future owner

Thanks! I am really pleased with how it turned out. I did end up getting a lower wattage bulb and am dialing in the temps as I write this. It is able to give more light as I don't have to dim it as much. Will post more pics once we get it.

What time of day should/can I feed?

Hi all, I am about to get a beardie this week and just have a feeding question, specifically regarding live food. I know that they should be fed live food(crickets, dubia, etc) 2-3 times a day as much as they can eat in 10-15 minutes. I am also aware that the little one will need some time to...

    New future owner

I do actually have a question about my basking light. Like I said in my last post I have an 85 watt halogen spot light bulb. Thing is I have to dim it down quite a bit to get the temp correct. Am I better off getting a lower wattage bulb so I can have it brighter for my beardie? Also, the bulb...

    Does wood type matter?

Hmmm, interesting, haven't heard that before. Did you seal the inside of the tank? I used a water-based polycrylic to seal, we will see if climbing it is a problem for it.

    New future owner

So, have been working hard on getting my enclosure ready and I think I am finally done, have never done anything like this before. My daughter and I went out and got the furniture for the little guy, and will probably get one this following weekend, just need to make sure we have a food source...

    Does wood type matter?

Hi, I am certainly not an expert in this area, as I am still finishing up my enclosure. Having said that, I think the big draw to melamine is the fact that you don't have to paint/stain/seal it so it won't have fume issues and it is easy to clean up due to the coating. Drawbacks are that it is...
