My Iggmond hasn't shed in awhile, is this something I should be worried about?

So I have my adorable little Iggy and I have never used a UVB bulb, he is turning 3 this year and seems to be healthy. I take him and put him in the window to get morning light, and during the summer I let him roam outside in the grass. Is this a healthy alternative for buying a UVB bulb?

Does anyone know if I can train my beardie to walk on my hand when I want to hold him, or at least make him more comfortable when I hold him. When ever I take him out he just seems scared and sits still, it takes him time to actually start moving and enjoying the free space.
