    Zoo-Med Excavator

I've used it. Get one of those plastic tubs used for mixing paint at the hardware store. Read the directions closely and mix the clay with water. You can then put it in the tank and use your hands or a paddle or something to form hills and get it the way you want. It's going to be quite damp...

    PLEASE HELP... Another rescued beardie

Sure, crickets have nutrition. They're just not as efficient at feeding a beardie vs. a dubia.

    getting a uromastyx

Not eating could be a variety of things. Lack of heat to push the bowels, impaction, brumation, viral disease. Of course poop has bacteria. Was it parasites? My reptile vet said that Uromastyx don't fully absorb antibiotics orally, they absorb the drugs better when injected. Did they give you a...

    getting a uromastyx

Spikeshuman pretty much said it all. Uro's are from desert climates, and therefore come from environments where they only see maybe 2 inches of water per year, so the trick to replicating this for them in your tank would be to leave out the water bowl, no baths, no soaks, no misting. They get...

    PLEASE HELP... Another rescued beardie

Crickets have no real nutrition to them, no real meat on their bones. I would suggest sticking to dubia's. Who knows what else might be wrong with that neglected beardie. I would seek out a qualified reptile vet and get a fecal test done along with complete bloodwork. Could have organ damage...

    URGENT!! Skin falling off!

I wouldn't medicate with anything until you see a qualified reptile veterinarian. Make sure the temps are good, so that it can feel comfortable.

    Peter loves it outside!

They are typically wanting to be more left alone than beardies. But, my female loves climbing on my hand, my male runs and hides from me when he notices me making eye contact with him. They are not aggressive to me in any way though, just very independent.

    My Chuck

Thanks! Chuck is our handsome little devil. I got Chuck as a very tiny hatchling back around March. so that makes him about 7 months. He cannot see the Uro's, I have them across the room so they are not stressed out by each other.

    Peter loves it outside!

Only for a few hours. With the glass it was heating up the tank dramatically and the temperature never stayed consistent, it kept getting hotter. They didn't have a cool side out there which I didnt like, so the whole tank was basically 115+. I brought them back inside so that I could get it...

    Peter loves it outside!

So I carried Peter and Lois' tank outside on the back deck, where it's hottest on my property. While it's not actually 126 outside on the deck (more like 90-100), the basking rock gets to 126. It was so dark in their room this morning even with their lamps on, so I decided to treat them to some...

    hasn't pooped yet

Keep your Uro hot 12-14 hours during the day, keep them in the basking spot at 120-135 so they get the desire to eat food and digest. Have a cool side of the tank around 80ish to give them relief from the heat when they need it. Provide plenty of caves for them to hide in, they love caves...

New Uro won't eat, other issues

It does seem like there aren't enough solid, expert information about Uro's out there. For me, I have 1 book about them I found at a pet store, and the internet. The guy at Deer Dern Farms aka Doug Dix is 1 of the only 2 Uro breeders in the US specializing in certain types/colors. (not sure...

New Uro won't eat, other issues

Uro's are vegetarians, I'd stick to strictly half and half ORGANIC spring mix (take out the spinach it inhibits their calcium absorption I was told) and dark green veggies like kale and collard greens. Wash these well, leave the water on the leaves a little, and rip up into pieces to make sure...
