    Please Help...Need Advice...

I don't think that they need to eat it when they are kept as pets. Its instant for them in the wild to get nutrients and not leave tracks.

That's great! If it doesnt gross you out, I keep a scrap book for all the largest or coolest chunks of shed. Ny favorite is one with the entire back, with spikes on the sides and armholes!

Also, I always used to worry when I put a salad In and my beardie didn't run for it. Then I figured out she only likes to eat at 1 specific point during the day... About 10 minutes after lights on. Funny right? Also how do you feed the crickets? Mine doesn't like the bugs because of the noise.

    She's super pale..

Personally I would never use substrate. I use reptile carpet or newspaper. Do you think she may be brumating? By pouting, fo you mean like head stuffed into corner sleeping? Brumation is like lizard hibernation, but at almost any time of the year. They could be active and perky for a bit, then...

    Running into walls and glass?

The tempatures are 95-100 on the hotter end, 85 on the cooler. Both tempatures are nit accurate due to bad thermometers, but I am getting a digital one this weekend. When looking at his belly, there are the 2 bumps on the sides rather than 1 right over the vent. I heard this meant he was male.

    Weight loss during brumation

There's a good article on the homepage of this website for Brumation. It says that some beardies don't brumate at all, so there is no reason to intentionally "induce" it.

    Mad the past week?

How old is he, and what gender? Beardies can get mad easily due to stress from hormones or shedding, which makes them easily annoyed.

    I GIVE UP

I can barely remember taming my beardie, because he was the most docile thing you have ever seen. He used to puff up and flatten, but never bit anyone. I think I just took him outside his cage for maybe 10-15 times, put him on my leg or next to me, and then just ignored him. He would either...

    Running into walls and glass?

Yeah, my adult male beadie often runs into the walls of his cage, sometimes glass dancing or just bonking into it and moving away. I have tried to put something in front of the glass so he can see it but that's not the problem. Also when I take him out he runs into any white walls. Few...

    Please Help...Need Advice...

Well, how would you feel if your skin was too tight? My beardie gets really stressed during shedding, and she doesn't want to do anything. Best advice I have is either to get a nice warm bath or mist him.

Yoshi's Thread... RIP My Sweet Baby Boy *Necropsy Results*

Oh my goodness... I am new here, and I read your little saga. I have not cried at anything online ever until now. I feel really sorry for you, but at least you know you did nothing wrong and Yoshi did nothing wrong. I hope you are okay, I can't even imagine what I would do if I lost my little...

    Are these statements true?

Oops... It appears I have some know-ing to get farther. :study: :study: :study: :study: By the by, are all mites red? I may be confusing them for another small bug...

Beardie acting odd after cold weather?

True, it's always good to have a fecal before brumation due to the conditions that could get worse if untreated over weeks

    Are these statements true?

About #1, from what I know about beardies and birdys, laying eggs takes a lot of the female's calcium supply for the shell, and is unnecessary calcium loss. When the egg binding is on an unfertilized egg, you just need to worry about the extra calcium for the female to avoid other...

    Weight loss during brumation

Remember, beardies are from and get their instincts from Australia. Southern hemisphere gets winter at northern hemisphere's summertime. Some just follow their natural instincts by body clock, and some start when the temp drops.

    3 mo. old/shed how often????

They should be shedding far more than adults, but some beardies are just slow growers. If you notice him/her getting more stressed or paler, just mist them with water and it should help the shedding process.

Beardie acting odd after cold weather?

It is completely and absolutley fine! It's a natural reaction to cold weather called Brumation. It's kinda like extreme hibernation, but for reptiles. They will sleep 80% of the day, often digging under the mat or whatever you have in there. Their breathing slows down dramatically and they could...

    Muscle spasms. Won't open mouth

Whenever my beardie gets his nose wet, the first reaction is to try to lick it, in which I put another drop until he realizes that the liquid is water and is good. Hope it helps!

Gandalf: Mouth open, arms moving slowly - HEAT

The arm waving could be streching in the nice "sunlight" or the social action. The mouth open is called gaping, and it's like they let the hot air inside of them go out. Kinda. Do you know what kind of heat land you are using? The basking temp should be around 100-110 I've heard, and the...

    She's super pale..

What is the size of the shell's open space compared to your beardie? It should always be easy to crawl in and out, so they cant ever get stuck even if they are not paying attention. Just put her back into the light, and the color should return. If the color doesn't come back within maybe 30...
