First, vinegar really won't kill much more than hot water. Second, if its wood, I'd imagine baking it in the oven as described and letting it air out, it will be fine... If its plastic, or non porous, just rinse it and it will also be fine.

What do you use for disinfectant? I'm worried about bacteria, parasites, viruses, etc - not dirt. Vinegar is not a sufficient disinfectant either.
