    Introducing Ragnar

This is Ragnar, our Bearded Dragon. We got him at the beginning of April. He is growing like crazy and is a very good eater. He was about 9 inches when we got him; he is now 15 inches.

    New Beardie eating characteristics

We just got Ragnar home, a beautiful Red Bearded Dragon. Ragnar was about 1/3 full grown when we got him at the end of April, so he is still on a heavy insect diet. He LOVES hornworms. He's been getting these twice a day. He LOVES Dubias. We just started giving these to him 4 days ago...

    Artificial plants in Vivarium?

I am going to be buying a new Beardie soon and right now I am preparing his/her new habitat. I have a large tank with a MVB and tube 10.0 UVB bulb. (I have a heat gun and a UVB meter to test that there is proper UVB). The floor is marble tile with rocks and branches for the Beardie to bask...

    Beardie or Frilled Dragon?

I have kept Beardies before, with good success. This year we lost our girl, Scarlett, and of course I am wanting to make a home for a new reptile. I have been trying to decide whether to go with another Beardie or try a Frilled Dragon. I have done a fair amount of research on the differences...

Deciding between Frilled Dragon and Beardie

I have kept Beardies before, with good success. This year we lost our girl, Scarlett, and of course I am wanting to make a home for a new reptile. I have been trying to decide whether to go with another Beardie or try a Frilled Dragon. I have done a fair amount of research on the differences...

    Beardie won't eat her crickets

My Beardie, Scarlett, has always been a voracious cricket eater until two weeks ago. She will still eat her salad, and she is FAT, but she will not touch her crickets. She appears totally disinterested in them when I put her in the feeding pen. She is about 3 1/2 years old and 19 inches long...

    UVB Meter reads

I am interested in two things that I was hoping that the folks here on the forum can help me with: 1. Using the UVB 6.2 meter, what reads are you getting from about 12 inches from a ballasted MV bulb? 2. What are the optimum readings if different from (1) above. Thanks in advance!

Now that she is full grown: what?

We got Scarlett last February. When we got her, she was about 7" long. I fed her her salad plus all the crickets she could eat twice a day, and she grew like crazy. Sometimes she grew an inch every ten days or so. Now she is 18" long (and very wide) and does not seem to be growing any more...

More than one Beardie in the Viv?

We got our new Beardie Scarlett ("Scary") about a month ago, and she is doing terrific. She is very active, eats her crickets and salad, and has grown over 2 inches. I am pretty sure that she is a female because her body is very rounded compared to many Beardies. We want her to have a great...

    Best MVB?

It looks like Reptile UV is impossible to deal with. I have been trying to order a bulb from them for approximately 2 months. Their website won't let you do it, and they never, ever, answer their phones. How is the T-Rex UVB bulb? And do many of you use actual UVB meters to measure the UV...

UVB Meter -- where can I get one?

I would like to buy a UVB meter so that I can ensure that Scarey is getting enough UVB (and not too much). Can someone recommend a good one, preferably with a link?

    Status of Reptile UV/Megaray bulbs

I am a big fan of Reptile UV. For the past month I have been trying to order a bulb from them. They do not respond to emails or telephone calls. Does anyone know, are they still in business or what? You cannot order their bulbs on the website and they cannot be contacted. What is going on?
