    Seperating Beardies I think :(

The rule of thumb is one dragon to one tank. How big is your current enclosure? The minimum size for one is a 40g breeder tank or 4x2x2. They need to be separated ASAP as they are already fighting and you certainly don't want to come home to a dead dragon. :(

    Frost's thread- shed! 10/25

Just wanted to stop in and say Frost is adorable! I have five corns myself, two bloodreds, an ultra caramel, an ultramel bloodred, and a baby normal. :D

Why are my dubias dying ???

Yeah, really hope it's just a coincidence. It hasn't been that cold here, and they only started dying two-three days after I got my order.

    New Born pinkies?

I would advise against feeding pinkies, as they can cause fatty liver disease in bearded dragons. I also second the superworm idea, as well as daily salads of collards, mustards, squash, etc. My Kalec and Ramsay also enjoy fresh raspberries as an occasional treat.

Why are my dubias dying ???

Shaw300, have you gotten any new roaches that you've added? I just added about 300 to my colony and only after I got the new ones did I start seeing a lot of dying roaches. Just pulled out four more dead nymphs, though humidity is going up.

Why are my dubias dying ???

Mine are doing the same thing, Shaw300. I had about 350ish in the bin and have had almost 60 die off in a week. No dead for at least a month before that. Mine are mostly males and large nymphs. Only one dead female, thankfully.

    Housing multiple beardies

I second what ChiefsDaddy has said and encourage you to read that link. Beardies do NOT want a friend nor will they "play" with other dragons. They're not dogs, they're reptiles. If you want your girls to get exercise, let them out of their vivs and run around. I have a small play pen for my...

    boy or girl?

The dots on the inside of the legs are femoral pores. Females have them as well. Males' tend to be more pronounced, but this is not always the case. My adult female has huge femoral pores, but she's definitely a girl.

    is my bd healthy?

The freeze dried stuff is no good. Use live feeders, as many as your dragon will eat in 10 minutes, twice daily. Mealworms are also no good as they can't digest the hard chitin shell. I suggest Phoenix Worms (Reptiworms) or dubia roaches. I don't like crickets personally as they smell, are loud...

Best Friends Forever? or Impending Death Match?

I still would not risk housing them together, even if they both turn out female. I've seen far too many posts about two females trying to kill each other when housed together to think it is remotely safe. They are solitary animals and do best when housed separately - no matter how fun it might...

    Beardie Attack!!

They refused to eat because of a new environment, not because they missed each other. Please, separate your dragons asap. You really don't want to come home to a maimed or dead dragon. :( They are solitary animals and do not need other dragon friends. You will do just fine as their companion.

how much should i feed my bearded dragon?

Kalec was eating 100+ crickets a day for a while. Ramsay currently eats at least 50 medium pheonix worms a day plus veggies and he's 9 weeks old.

    alpha?

There is no alpha because 1) "alpha" is a term used to describe an adult parent wolf, and 2) bearded dragons are solitary animals and should not be housed together. One will always be bullied and not receive enough UVB/food at the very best. At worse, you may end up with a dead dragon. :( Hope...

    Sharp nails!

I use tile as well, and I still have to clip Kalec's nails, though not very often. One of my jobs is at a dog grooming salon, so I'm very used to trimming nails. I just use a pair of cat nail clippers and clip a small bit off the nails so they're not sharp. Be very careful of the quick though as...

    beardie color

Sandfire is more of a brand name rather than a specific colour name. For instance, Sandfire Dragon Ranch produces reds, oranges, yellows, citrus, hypos, etc, and all are called "Sandfire." It's like the difference between a tissue and a Kleenex. One is a generic and the other is a brand name -...

1 year old no longer eating greens

Bumping this as I really hope someone has some advice! Still turning her nose up at greens and is now getting a bit cross when I try and hand feed them to her.

1 year old no longer eating greens

Also forgot to add, it's been a good two-ish months since Kalec shed last, and it doesn't look like she's about to shed any time soon. She's also 19 inches nose to tail tip, 508g, and a year and three months old.

1 year old no longer eating greens

Hey folks! Kalec has decided she no longer want to eat her veggies. She's basking normally and not hiding, so I'm not sure if it's just the start of brumation. She still goes nuts over her dubias and hornworms, and I've tried to cut back on those in an effort to get her to eat her greens. I've...
