I've found a way that works very well is to gently open the corner of their mouth with the syringe, you can easily fit it in there and you can slide the syringe toward the front of his mouth and he will open all the way.

UPDATE: I put Titus back on superworms and upped his cage temps. He is now eating with gusto and has a lot more energy. He is already gaining back some of the fat on his tail and he is doing great now! Thank you guys for all the help!
