Mites?

So today, I got a new enclosure (full glass) for my beardie and I bleached it all out and everything. When I was putting the decor in it, I noticed some tiny black bugs. I have NEVER observed mites on him, he has never been around other lizards or around contaminated bedding. I put everything in a scalding hot bleach bath and have it all soaking. I even got a new UVB fixture because I noticed some on there. Like I said, he has no mites on him and the enclosure has been fully bleached. Should I be safe after all of the stuff comes out of the bleach?

Sorry that no one responded to your post. I would think that if you have boiled and bleached all of your beardies accessories and tank... you should be fine. Do you bathe your beardie? If you do this and there are any mites on him they should run to his head(or any part not submerged in water). Then you can pick them off. I hope your beardie is okay and doesn't have any mites.

I re-bleached the cage and everything, turns out that they were living under the rim on the top. I also believe them to have been snake mites because the enclosure (which I obtained from someone else) previously housed a snake. They have been completely eliminated and everything is good and clean now.
