Where to do humidity readings in the enclosure?

There's no way i can get the basking spot to above 10% (I've tried putting the water dish on the hot side) all my meters are digital, i have the zoomed thermometer humidity gauge and those digital ones you can stick to anywhere in the terrarium, I measure directly at the baking spot and get the...

Where to do humidity readings in the enclosure?

Okay so i've heard that you need to keep the terrarium to 35-40% to keep the bearded dragon healthy, my question is where do i put the probe or sticky thermometer? Should it be put in the back center of the terrarium? or the basking area? because I find the basking spot usually has readings of...

    8 month old Brumation?

yeah all roaches are banned in Canada, except the kind you smoke. Locusts too! Turns out Canada is a terrible place to raise an Aussie bearded dragon :( She's never eaten the salad i give her (that i see) and I prepare her one daily. Collard greens are really hard to find at the grocery store...

    8 month old Brumation?

Hey so I can get Pheonix worms (i think those are bsfl right?) but they're ridiculously expensive here $20 CAD for 100 of them and they're super tiny. I've been giving her Superworms (which are very affordable, not quite as affordable as crickets though) because she stopped eating any crickets...

    8 month old Brumation?

Thanks for the reply, I should have mentioned I live in Canada so I can't get dubia roaches (they're banned here) She's getting a little more active but that might be because i am still picking her up daily (should i be doing that?) The T5 is on top of the tank (shining through a screen) i'll...

    8 month old Brumation?

Hey i realize you might get people like me asking this question a lot, I'm having a problem distinguishing whether or not my bearded dragon is brumating. She's about 8 months old and 20 inches long - She started spending a lot of time in her cave with her head sticking out, sleepily staring out...

Having trouble finding greens in Canada

How can I improve my enclosure?

yeah bulb is okay, i got the 10.0 hood bulb. More concerned about the humidity variation within the terrarium. I live on the west coast in Vancouver so i'm not sure if that's why its happening

How can I improve my enclosure?

Hi, I've had my Bearded Dragon for about 3 months now. She doesn't move much when she's in the terrarium when i take her out she's pretty active and fast to move around. I keep her basking spot around 105-110 degrees and the humidity down (where her basking spot is) to 35-40%. However the rest...

    Is this Tail rot?

Hey i noticed my beardies tail was getting dark.. I wanted to get some peoples input on if it's tail rot.. I don't think he's malnourished, he gets plenty of dusted crickets a day.. and the UVB 10.0 light is unobstructed in the terrarium so he get's plenty of that too.. Thanks for the help!

    Insects for a growing boy

Thanks but i don't want to ship from the US to Canada, that would be a nightmare for my wallet but more importantly the feeders. I'm not sure what discoid roaches are, but i was able to get some flattened dead roaches in a thin envelope, but they we're way too big for him and even after i cut...

    Insects for a growing boy

Hey so from what I gather the staples of a young bearded dragons diet should be Silkworms, Crickets, Locusts, or BSFL I'm canadian so dubia roaches are not possible. I've been hunting down places to find these insects in Vancouver but i've only found one place that "sometimes" sells Silkworms...

2 month beardie not eating often

Also I tried adjusting his basking platform so he would get a higher range of temperature, he doesn't bask anymore, hides in the cool side of the tank..

2 month beardie not eating often

So would this set up be okay? I would put the UVB closer to the front of the terrarium but i'm worried it will get annoying to move everytime i need to get inside He does need the ceramic, it gets chilly in Vancouver some nights
