Wow! This is exactly our dragon right now! I was starting to get a little worried but now I feel better! I'm gonna just keep giving baths and keep him hydrated... Should I completely stop giving food or keep the greens in everyday and offer worms when he'll eat them?

I always thought those were their fat stores... My guy has the same thing (I think) and he's healthy! Hopefully someone else jumps in who knows for sure!

Thanks so much! He isn't fully in his hide, just hanging out and looks really dozy... He isn't eating much, some supers if we put them in front of him, but he definitely looks like he'd like to sleep all day. Do i continue to put greens in for him or just let him chill?

The best and easiest to clean is reptile carpet or tile. Either one you can remove easily and wash well. Sand is not only really gross, it's bad for beardies, it can impact them and make them really sick. You can also never get sand clean.

I've read the article on brumating, and I think Buddy is getting ready, however, I have a question regarding his UVB light. It is scheduled to be changed in about 3 weeks, do I change it if he is brumating or when he's done?

I wonder if you'll have to feed him/her more just to keep the second alive?

Our guy will sometimes fall asleep standing straight up! They can sleep in some of the weirdest positions! Don't worry...

Do you have a coil UVB or is it tube? Also, you should have the UVB light inside his tank as the screen on top can filter out almost 50% of the UVB he's trying to get. Question - if you say you've only seen him eat a couple times, how do you know he hasn't licked his sand?

Just give it time... If he's really little he's just not used to them yet. Once our guy learned he could float and swim, you couldnt keep him out of the tub! As soon as he hears water running he gets excited! Keep giving him baths and he'll learn to love it...

Good morning! 1) beardies need bright white light for basking, like the sun. Many people use a simple household bulb or you can use an actual basking light from the pet store. 2) good show on the coil UVB! Get it outta there! Not sure about the Arcadia, I use the reptisun 10.0 3) reptile...

Maybe he wants to be warm at night when he sleeps... Why not try putting a towel over his tank when he goes to sleep and take it off In the a.m.? :wink:

If you're gonna take him outside, I would hold him at first, he'll probably get a little scared. Otherwise, try to make a harness with a leash, this way he won't run away! And keep your eye on him, they are pretty quick!

AHBD do you mean crawlers like the worms you'd take fishing? If so, I never thought of them!
