    Beardies First Clutch

Is there a decent substrate that I could use other then play sand? I live in a small town and I know that I can't get any here (I've looked in the past). What about the coconut husk or something? She seems content, doesn't seem to be stressed but I don't want her to hold onto the eggs or...

    Beardies First Clutch

I have a feeling my beardie is going to lay eggs. I can feel something in her tummy, small, round egg type somethings. She just pooped so I know it's not that. She had been acting strange, refusing to eat for about a week then eating everything in sight! This would be her (and my) first clutch -...

POOP QUESTION (Not a Health topic, Rather Comical)

How old is your beardie? When my beardie was young I worked at a pet store so I was able to bring her to work with me all the time. She spent a lot of time on my shoulders/upper back...she'd just cling on and snuggle up in my hair....and poop! All the time! I'd have to wash my hair on my lunch...

    Beardies tail won't shed!

How old are your beardies? If your worried about shedding, you can use a soft toothbrush to brush the scales in/after a bath...be careful not to pick at the scales because you could damage the new scales underneath. Also, Your beardies share a tank? This is never recommended because beardies...

    Getting Dragon to show colors

Beardies colours will change due to things like mood and temperature. They will turn dark when trying to absorb heat and it's generally believed that the light/bright colours are concidered 'happy colours'.

    1 week - no poo!

Mix the oil into the applesauce. I just offer a spoonful to Vinny and she licks it off the spoon. Sometimes she isn't interested until she tastes it (same with a lot of fruits) I just dab a little on her nose, when she goes to lick something she tastes it on her face, and keeps licking, I put...

    1 week - no poo!

Just to add to what Morphius was saying, if it's an impaction you can try to feed her a bit of apple sauce with a drop or two of olive oil. It's like a beardie laxative.

    Flooring

Most hardware stores or where ever you buy your tiles should be able to cut them for you. Usually for free...just get the measurements for the inside of your viv.

Feeding causing IMMEDIATE brightening of color...

I don't know if I would say mine is at her brightest but she definitely at her lightest when she sleeps, goes almost completely white with soft yellow highlights.

    Flooring

I agree with Frank79. However, I do have some sand in Vinny's tank. I have tiles over 3/4 of the floor and a section of sand for her to dig and play in...but I have extra tiles that I slide over top of the sand area when I don't want her to have access to it. Sort of like a removable sand box...

A lot of us use tile. It works great, easy to clean, no impaction risk and it can help keep your beardies nails filed down.
