Feeding causing IMMEDIATE brightening of color...

Is it common for a dragon to become brighter within a couple seconds of being fed? Every morning when I approach Phoenix's tank, she is still somewhat darker trying to absorb that morning light while the basking spot climbs in temps...but after about an hour of lights on, I feed her. But when I drop in the food, whether it be crickets or greens first, she IMMEDIATELY becomes brightly colored and stays that way pretty much throughout the day. But I didn't know what exactly caused the change in color to be so quick? It is a blood-flow kind of thing? Is it her being happy and healthy, excited to be getting fed? Do other owners experience this? I love watching it because she is Sandfire and Red Snow mix, so her colors are incredible! Let me know if you see this in your dragon.

Whoa-awsome! My beardie gets more colors after the lights switch in, but thaqts all i'v experianced.

My guy brightens up a lot too after being fed. But he isn't exactly the most colorful guy lol. But I do notice that his belly whitens up and all his dark marks disappear after being fed or when I take him out to hang out. I'm not sure exactly why but I'd like to think its because he loves food or me or both :mrgreen:

thats how goddess is i usually feed her around 11 and she is still some what dark belly and back but once she starts eating her belly turns all white and her back and head turn yellow and orange id say after like 2 crix

Well my beardie is at his brightest at night when asleep weird i no but its true

We have 5 beardies, all different ages and we find the same thing, after awhile under the basking lights, feeding, then light & bright colours, depends on the beardie. Sounds like Phoenix knows when she's happy and well taken care of. Pics would be nice too!

Yeah. Phoenix turns her brightest when she's sleeping, too.

I'm in the process on the pictures. I have some from my phone, but they aren't the best. Going to try to borrow my girlfriend's camera for a few days so I can finally show you all here what Phoenix looks like.

Well my beardie is at his brightest at night when asleep weird i no but its true

I don't know if I would say mine is at her brightest but she definitely at her lightest when she sleeps, goes almost completely white with soft yellow highlights.
