Substrate for the messiest beardie ever.

wow... this got kind of heated while I was gone. Anyway I have put paper towel down and she still managed to make quite a big mess. it's just on the paper towel and walls rather than tile and walls. It is easier to replace to towels than to try to scrub down the tiles everyday though. :) I'm...

Substrate for the messiest beardie ever.

Thanks for the suggestion. She doesn't seem to perfer pooping in anyone place yet. I'll lay down some paper towels and maybe that'll dry it out better so she can't smear so much. I forgot to mention before that I feed her insects by hand so she never has a chance to ingest any of her substrate...

Substrate for the messiest beardie ever.

I have a rescue beardie (Megumi) who is a MESSY GIRL. My first beardie Kenshin is a very tidy boy. He doesn't like to poop in his viv and when he does he steers clear of it. Megumi was very dirty when I got her and now I see why. She likes to poop and then she just doesn't care at all if she...

Dexter... 3 years old and never knew what heat was.

His poor little jaw makes me wanna do bad things to his previous owners. He's such a little trooper. Love that he's getting around and using his tongue. What a sweety.

My first rescue beardie - Megumi

Thanks! I'll probably have some concerns as time goes by. Especially if she doesn't fatten up quickly enough. (I wanna see a beardie belly on that girl.) I'm so happy that I took her home. She's a sweety too and is already showing herself to be quite the character. I love her very much...

My first rescue beardie - Megumi

Well on Friday night I brought home my very first rescue beardie. She was up for adoption at our local Herpetological society meeting this past friday. She was skinny and dingy and really lethargic looking. I try really hard not to try to take home every beardie that comes up for adoption...

Dexter... 3 years old and never knew what heat was.

This is so wonderful to read. Anytime I start to get overwhelmed by all the bad things that people do I can come read a beardie rescue thread like this and remember how very WONDERFUL people can be. You guys are Dexters angels for sure! Can't wait to see progress pics as he gets stronger and...

    Added Tiles to my enclosure

Well I'm not necessarily an expert but I think the main concern with sand is that it will be ingested when catching their dinner. With this set up I would think that most of the hunting would occur in the tiled area so the chance of ingestion is pretty low. Besides it looks AWESOME! I really...

    My website

Good start! It's very cool to see a local breeder online. ( I live in Inver Grove Heights) Your beardie's look so lovely. One suggestion that I have is to lighten the background on the header. It's hard to read the black against the dark gray. I also agree that it would be nice to add more...

Can someone in Northern MN or WI Rescue a Craigslist Beardie

Well my face is red.... When my guy and I were driving home from a family reunion up by Alexandria we drove through Albertville and I noticed that the water tower said "Albertvill - St. Michael". So I said to Matt (my significant other) "Ummmm that water tower said St. Michael. I wonder if we...

Can someone in Northern MN or WI Rescue a Craigslist Beardie

Do you want to contact to guy to arrange it or would you like me to? I don't mind doing it if you like :) I really don't want him to catch wind of the fact we are "rescuing" the beardie as insulting someone isn't the best way to begin a transaction. I was thinking that because we don't want any...

Can someone in Northern MN or WI Rescue a Craigslist Beardie

I'm not sure if this belonged in the rescue train thread or if it's ok to make a new thread for it but I just came across one of those heartbreaking Craigslist listings for a Beardie in St. Micheal Minnesota. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/for/1232431860.html Being kept in a storage bin...

VOTE FOR REGGIE! Results are out!

Even twentieth is pretty darn impressive. You beat so many dogs and cats and certainly showed anyone who looked at that webpage that beardie lovers are a force to be reckoned with :) I think Reggie gets major props for being the only non mammal in the competition and doing darn great too...
