I am SO inspired by this story. This is what life is all about. He may have not made it much longer. You sacrificed a video game and may have only been able to see his happy face for a few hours. I am just completely absorbed by this story and it really brings me to tears that someone would let him be in this position for this long. I know how much I love my little man and I can't imagine seeing him in this state. I am sure that Dexter will grow into a fine, healthy man and he only has you guys to thank!

For his facial sore, you may get better results and relief if you try to keep it as moist as you can. When the medication isn't on it, you may add a little sugar water to it. This way it can keep it wet like a scab and it should start falling off sooner.

This is so wonderful to read. Anytime I start to get overwhelmed by all the bad things that people do I can come read a beardie rescue thread like this and remember how very WONDERFUL people can be.

Thank you Chelly, this morning is antibiotic day, but we will try the sugar water every other day that he is not needing his medicine. His megaray bulb apparently was stuck in bad weather with UPS, and has been rescheduled for tomorrow. I can't wait for it to get here so I can get it burnt in. Dexter is getting pretty alert. He doesn't hold his head up all day long by himself, but he has gotten his range of motion in his head and neck. He watches our every move now. When we get him out of the viv, he seems to automatically stick his tongue out for the baby food slurry even when we are not ready. We are giving him a phoenix worm with every meal, he gets up on all fours and comes after them fast, so his appetite is still there.

This afternoon we had a bath after lunch. He did pretty good at lunch. I took a few pic's and a video with my camera.

He's such a little trooper. Love that he's getting around and using his tongue.

I forgot to let everyone know. We went and got a scale at Walmart today, Dexter weighs in at 265g today. Cora our 7 month old baby weighed in at 296g. Needless to say he has a ways to go but we will do everything we can to get him there. Still eating well and alert. The vet called today to check on him. They would like to see him back in a few days if he keeps doing better to get some blood work done.

Darling Dexter... I just love his sweet little face. :love5: He has some beautiful yellow around his eyes. I believe he will fatten up nicely for you. He wants to eat, and that's the main thing.

I predict that you will start to look forward to "weigh day" every week so that you can see just how many grams Dexter has gained!

He is going to be just gorgeous!

You can already see some color peeking through. How are things coming with the whole shed thing? Using the toothbrush yet? He looks awesome! MUCH better than he did a few days ago.

I'm just so glad that he has an appetite.

Oh hes moving around everytime i see him it just makes tears come to my eyes. Hes going to be a big boy when you get him all fattened up

I came home to him yesterday face first in his salad bowl. I offer him fresh veggies every day, but pretty much figure he wont eat them. Yesterday was a pleasant surprise! Erika and I ran to the store to get him some cactus pads to see if he might enjoy that with his squash, turnip greens, and dandelion greens. He ate extremely well this morning. He couldn't get enough of the baby food until I shot his antibiotic in his mouth while he was chomping down. Then I got some dirty looks and he started to slowly back away from us. He ended up coming back for more baby food though lol. This morning was his biggest apatite yet.

I started working on his new viv last night... but had to quit because it was almost 1 in the morning and Erika was trying to sleep while I'm drilling and cutting away. I will have to post some pictures later!
