Your uvb is how long ? Brand and bulb? Distance and placement are crucial for the rays- this will depend on your screen- The basking bulb is a Arcadia halogen? Please get 2 digital probe thermometers - they are the most accurate - IR guns are good but cannot read of the certain materials so it's best to have the probes- you also want to keep track of ambient temps as wellI bought the guy’s set up and he has a long tube uvb light, but not long enough in my opinion so I’ve ordered a longer one. He also had a pretty crappy basking light which I’ve replaced it with an Arcadia D3 bulb. There is a temperature gauge in the enclosure, but I’ve ordered an infrared thermometer to test all areas. I’m trying my best.
100 watts - yes I hope to improve things for the little chap as much as I can. I really appreciate all the guidanceIt sounds like you're def. doing your best ! Plus you just got him so there will be progress over time no doubt. How many watts is the heat bulb.?
Not sure how long the current uvb bulb is, or the brand, but it’s only covering about a third of the enclosure. I’ve ordered an Arcadia D3 6-percent reptile lamp, 30 inch. The basking lamp bulb is Arcadia D3 UV basking lamp 100w, it’s a mercury vapor light. Thanks for the tip re the probes - I will purchase.Your uvb is how long ? Brand and bulb? Puff. I know it’s terribly cheesy!Do you have a name for this beardie boy ? Sorry if I missed it.
I think Puff is a great name!Puff. I know it’s terribly cheesy!
You don't want to cover the entire setup if he wants to escape from the light then he can't escape from the light I think the light is fine no need to buy a longer one because you want to buy a light that is long, but not too long that he can't escape from it in case he wants to be in a cooler area. Not sure how long the current uvb bulb is, or the brand, but it’s only covering about a third of the enclosure. Thank you for that - I had read somewhere that anything above 6% was too high. There is so much conflicting information out there! You need the 12% or 14% uvb, the 6% will likely not provide strong enough uvb. The Arcadia pro t5 12% desert is a great option.
this is in correct info ---Thank you for that - I had read somewhere that anything above 6% was too high. There is so much conflicting information out there!
That is true depending on what size the terrarium is.Thank you for that - I had read somewhere that anything above 6% was too high. There is so much conflicting information out there!
