I have had a bad experience with dirt-like substrate. Not too sure if it is the best idea

My previous beardie died and I found mites in her water bowl that I didn't see before. I looked everywhere and came to the conclusion that the only possible place the mites could have come from was from the dirt substrate I used

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
